Japanese Only Tenyo Magic

Over the years there has also been many tricks sold by Tenyo exclusively for the Japanese market. These tricks were never released in English packaging so no official English language instructions exist. Many of these are very good and they would be good sellers if they were easily available to non-Japanese customers. Even those these tricks are only sold in Japan you can get some of them from SEO Magic USA.

The Spoon

Description

Comments

This is Tenyo’s interpretation of a trick using the out to lunch principle. I believe that this is a vintage product and not something that was sold recently, although it has been released recently using a Pokemon theme.

Four Nightmare DX

Description

The magician displays a long and short rope. When stretched out together, they magically become equal in length. Next they are tied together, and then the knot is slipped off of the rope. A knot is tied in the center of the long piece of rope. The magician squeezes the knot and it melts completely away. The magician now makes a very large knot which he holds in one hand, now all of a sudden in one hand he holds the long rope in the other hand an endless loop of rope in a circle. For an extra effect, the loop of rope and the long rope are tied together, but suddenly, the knot dissolves, and magician is left with one single long rope!

Comments

I do not perform this so I don’t have too much to say about it. I would recommend getting it from seomagic-usa.com because they sell it will an exclusive instructional DVD.

Zig Zag Skeleton

Description

A skeleton and a sarcophagus are shown. The skeleton is placed into the sarcophagus. The magician slides the middle section of the sarcophagus to the left and the skeleton is severed into three separate pieces. Next a sword is inserted into the middle section of the skeleton.  The magician then slides the middle section back into place and the skeleton is once again hole with the sword still inserted in the middle.

Comments

This is a variation of T-110 Zig Zag Cig that was invented by Hiroshi Kondo in 1981. In the early 1990’s, Tenyo licensed certain tricks to Milton Bradley for their Magic Works line of tricks and Zig Zag Cig was modified and became Severed Skeleton. Tenyo later released this version in Japanese packaging with the name Resurrection of the Pharaoh.

McDonald’s Themed Magic

Description

Three different effects are included in the McDonald’s line of magic tricks. The first is a cleaver sponge routine where the sponges represent french fries. The second is a hamburger version of T-20 Cubio. The third is 3 mentalism effects, one consists of a selected card rising from the others, the second uses a known magic principle with a milk shake and straw theme. The third effect uses the aged card principle (also used in the 1999 Dream Psychometry +1) to determine the McDonald’s menu item that the spectator has chosen.

Comments

I have not tried these yet but after looking into them and writing the descriptions I think I want to open them.

Spiderman Magic Comic Book

Description

This is a magic flip book. You flip through the pages once and it shows blank pages and then you flip through them a again and all the pages are colorful. This works really well for this iteration of the magic flip book because the blank pages are actually not blank but show empty frames for the art and empty balloons for the text.

Comments

The book is much bigger than a standard comic book. The dimensions are the same as A4 paper (8.27 inches x 11.69 inches). The pages are really thick as well as the cover. This should hold up well. The artwork on the front is not of an actual Spiderman Comic Book. It is a simulated cover that was created for a poster and reused here. Still very cool.
