Re: Tenyo 2019

"That's exactly what I mean. If the bill is as big as the surface of the prop, only then it works perfect. Of course I mean, if half of the bill fits the prop. With smaller bills it's really a pain to perform." Rob, this is not true. It doesn't matter what size the bill is. I've had one for quite a ...

Re: Most expensive Tenyo you ever bought

Tenyo in general has gotten less expensive, except for the items everyone is chasing. My most expensive Tenyo item was their Kuma Tubes, which retailed for $1000 in the last year they put it out, and that's how much I paid for it (new, at an out of the way magic shop in Japan where it was just sitti...

One of the movies that Bill worked on was the original Blade Runner. His company's name was Illusion Arts.

Re: 2018 tenyo

It's tiring to hear people's continued lamentations about the "golden" days of Tenyo and big hunks of plastic. It's been said many times in many ways again and again. Isn't that enough? If you don't like the kind of magic that Tenyo is putting out now (every company must change its products over tim...

Re: REQUEST FOR MEMBERSHIP by EMAIL ONLY

The guy who oversees my web stuff found a plug in that eliminated the problem. But I don't know anything about the guts of these things. I would suggest Googling plug-ins for whatever type of forum software you're using. This is a large problem that is well known, and chances are that someone will h...

Re: T-109 Midas Machine

I love Midas Machine and have every version (five, I think). No trouble performing this perfectly if you follow the instructions closely--it's simple self-working magic. Kondo is a genius for creating this. It's better than "Mobile Illusion" and easier to do. Finding the old bill required isn't a pr...

Re: 2018 tenyo

If you want to know how the same principle used for the blade would look if it had been made in Japan, just take a look at Mystic Blackboard. That should answer your question. Same principle, same inventor.

Re: 2018 tenyo

Yes, there have been divisive opinions on many Tenyo tricks.

The videos you see of the guillotine don't reveal the problem with seeing the blade in normal lighting conditions.

I've figure out a way to handle the blade that overcomes the problem.

Re: PresentingTenyo YouTube Channel

Hi Madison, you could not place the blade on the table the way you do if you're performing the trick for people. The edge of the gimmick is visible along the diagonal edge of the blade. (Learned that the hard way.) You could put it on the table with the straight edge in view of the audience. Regardi...

Re: 2018 tenyo

Unfortunately it doesn't matter in which direction you hold the blade: the change in finish in what should be a solid piece of plastic is evident.

The only way to solve the problem is to avoid letting any light reflect on it

It's the same principle as Mystic Blackboard, which does not have light reflection issues (at least to the best of my recollection).

Re: 2018 tenyo

Victor, you have to learn how to manage spectators. The moment this trick is concluded, pocket the box with one hand and bring out another trick with the other hand. That's just one idea. The other idea is to have some faith that the audience will be satisfied because they have already examined the ...

Re: 2018 tenyo

Here's a presentation for you, Victor: put a rubber band around the bento box. Bring it out and place it on the table and ask the spectator, "Do you know what that is?" The answer will be "no" (because at its tiny size it doesn't look like a real Bento Box). Say, "Pick it up, turn it over, and look ...

Yes, Tenyo's version is by the far the most well made.

A TV crew just flew to my house from Japan and did a story on Tenyo. I did Crash Dice, then taught it to the producer who then did it on camera. Airing in Japan on December 21.

Re: 2018 tenyo

I disagree. When you first bring out the Bento Box, you can indeed hand it to the spectator. You can even ask them to lift the lid while you ask if they know what a Bento Box is. Asking them a question while they are performing an action takes the heat off the action. Now you can take the box and li...
