Re: Automata

I wanted to buy the Pegasus Lego kit, but haven't been able to find it anywhere. If anyone has any leads, please let me know.

I have seen some wooden kits for sale, but they were all very simple.

Re: Are you investing or collecting for fun?

I agree that now is not a good time to be buying Tenyo for investment- the prices are simply too high. However, there are some features that make Tenyo a little different from other collectibles like stamps, baseball cards and comic books or even magic collectibles like Thayer and Milson Worth. An i...

Re: Best way to open a Blister Package

I would hold out for an open one. Much like giving birth, there's no going back once the package is opened.

Fantastica comes up for sale every once in a while.

Books a Tenyo Collector Might Enjoy

A few of my favorite magic books might appeal to the Tenyo collectors on this forum. Magic Stage Illusions, Special Effects, and Trick Photography compiled and edited by Albert A. Hopkins. http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Illusions-Special-Effects-Photography/dp/0486265617/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=13747144...

Re: My favorite non-tenyo magic manufacturers

Hi David, Thanks for the reply. I too have the enchanted ring by Powell, and agree that it is a "must have." I had the aluminum version from Tannen's as a kid, but prefer the look of the wooden version. I saw the new Victorian Prediction and will probably buy it. Please let me know what you think wh...

My favorite non-tenyo magic manufacturers

There are plenty of wonderful manufacturers out there. I wanted to share a list of a few that I really like, and I think may appeal to some of the people on this forum. Magic Wagon: Magic Wagon make beautiful pieces of apparatus. They make both wooden and resin pieces, and the build quality is excel...

Re: Fortune Sticks

John M. and I were discussing Fortune Sticks, and he thought it may be interesting for me to post a little on the theory or why Fortune Sticks works. Fortune sticks combines two really neat principles, and is a mystifying and brilliant effect! The first is a binary coding system that can code up to ...

Automata

John M. and I have discussed automata a few times, and I hope to build a simple automaton one day. I wanted to start a thread dedicated to automata and mechanical toys, things that may interest some of the same people who enjoy collecting Tenyo items. I just read the short book Antonio Diavolo: A So...

My name is John, and I live in NJ. I have been a fan of Tenyo for many years. I used to demo and sell Tenyo when I worked at a magic shop almost 20 years ago. I still have many of my original Tenyo items like Clean Cut and Mira Metal. I also collect some other magic items, but the majority of my col...
