Re: BLOCKBUSTER!
Rob, I was sent the instructions by someone that wondered if it was a trick that would be suitable for 3D-printing, so I cannot claim to have figured it out. I actually hadn't seen the trick before reading the instructions, so I never really got the chance to even try figuring it out. That said, I'm...

Re: BLOCKBUSTER!
I was recently made aware of this extremely clever trick, and I may well end up making my own 3D-printed version of it. Not sure I can make any improvements to the original, though.

Re: Magic Wagon - Majestic Meteor Ball
That is a very cool looking device, and the fact that the props are examinable (all props mentioned except from the stand/pedestal) at the end probably means there's a clever mechanism. Since this is in the open forum, posting any public guesses best be avoided. Also interesting to note that Talbot ...

Re: This one baffled me...
A very smooth performance by Mikame with the Rising Coin Castle. Doing it as smooth and quick as that is probably not easy, and there are some angle considerations as well (the spectator in his demo would not be fooled, that's for sure). And you need the final small chest to be out of sight before l...

Re: Fourtunate
It's not sleight of hand, rather "slide of thumb". It is pretty expensive for what it is, but due to the very limited number of outcomes, you can't really show it to the same audience more than once.
That said, for someone that does table hopping it is probably quite good.

Re: Tenyo 2020
I agree 4D cross is the most interesting one, but it isn't too difficult to figure out when you have the luxury of watching it on video. A live performance is of course way better, and I think it will be a great fooler under those circumstances.

Re: Switching to New Server
John, may I suggest you set up a server side forwarding/redirecting from http to https? That is how most other sites do it, and in my opinion there is no reason not to. I don't know the exact system for this forum, but most likely you'll have to edit the .htaccess file on the server to have it rewri...

Re: What are you working on?
Yes, this would really be an ideal 3D-printing project. And there certainly is room for improvements - I used some tiny pieces of felt to deal with with the "noisy" bottom part. Yes, that might be enough to dampen the noise to an acceptable level. Other than that, talking over it is always a good i...

Re: What are you working on?
Yes Øyvind, it’s not too complicated to figure out ... Will be a nice project for you to make it with your 3D printer :) Yes, I see how it works, and it is indeed a rather easy project to make, but it would be nice to come up with some improvements as well, perhaps especially when it comes to unwan...

Rob, I just watched your video of that trick, because I had completely forgotten about it. Now I am tempted to make my own! I do have a fairly good idea how it works, I think.

Re: Switching to New Server
The issue with a transfer like this, is that as long as the site seems fine, people will post messages. And all of those messages will be lost as long as the provider doesn't re-sync the files. I hope that can be done, but if not it isn't that big a deal. The only way to avoid this, is to shut down ...

Re: Mini Tangram Paradox
That is interesting. It should most definitely be possible to make with a 3D-printer, but I am not sure I actually know exactly how it works. If all that is used is what you see, and nothing is gimmicked, then it would appear it is all about distributing the gaps in such a way that it appears the wh...
