Re: Alan Warner Magic

I do not believe that I am smarter than everyone else, I just enjoy figuring out great tricks and learning from it. And I don't tend to actually explain other people's tricks in the open either. And yes, I did notice that you said you were kidding, but in case you weren't, just say the word and I'll...

Re: Alan Warner Magic

That was quite entertaining, Madison. Your routine/story could also be used with an audience, just that you'd let one (or three) audience members instruct which holes to plug. As to how it works, that's pretty much impossible to guess, except the obvious that all outcomes are possible. I guess the w...

Re: The Enchanted Rings - Magic Wagon

I agree, Richard. I'd be a bit wary of their claims on this one, but since Rob caved in and ordered one, I guess we'll know how good it really is in the near future.

Re: Alan Warner Magic

Ok, I see. Making something like this examinable is probably quite difficult, at least as long as it is mechanical.

Happy birthday, David!

It seems David has reached the age that is the "answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything", so a congratulation is in order!

Have a beautiful birthday, David!

Re: Alan Warner Magic

I just watched your video of "Mini Mental" Madison, and I enjoyed it very much. Even if I don't know the exact method used, it is possible to see the "move" you do. I think it might be better to do that move as you pick each block up from the table, as it will be easier to cover it with a large move...

Looks nice, Victor!
Did you buy your own 3D printer to make these? If so, I'm guessing we'll see more tricks from you in the future? :-)

Re: Mystic Prediction - Magic Wagon

@Victor: Being able to show the folded prediction in the beginning is clearly an improvement, very nice! I did a quick search on this trick, and found out that MW also has at least four different variations on this theme/method (not counting this newest one), and some allows for showing the predicti...

Re: Mystic Prediction - Magic Wagon

I'm not a big fan of this new MW item, as it is just too obvious what happens. Given that we already know that it can't be shown from all sides prior to the trick, it seems obvious that the performer somehow needs to fiddle with something on the rear to get to the right prediction. With proper misdi...

Re: Quarter Pounder by R. Paul Wilson

Yes, looks interesting. However, it appears this is actually not new at all, it was invented by Steve Duscheck back in the early nineties, and published by him under the name "Hybrid Coin" (at least when it comes to the gimmick itself, the routine is probably not the same). Whether it is easy enough...

Re: Tenyo 2019 - Print Impress (my presentation)

Yes, that was a splendid presentation. There is a little stumbling just as you are about to paint the Van Gogh picture, but it doesn't detract much from the overall impression.

Re: Saqqara Mystery - Magic Wagon

Already one for sale on the Café, $199 :o including postage in the United States, I know the seller and he posts world wide for a low cost. That's perhaps a bit surprising, but I'm guessing the seller might have expected a new and clever mechanism, which it does not have (as far as I know). It sure...

Re: Mini Pool Balls Prediction or Bomb Proof

David, using mini bicycle cards could be a good idea, since the cards will appear (and also be) as totally innocent to the spectators. I think I'll order some mini cards, as I don't have any of those. Making a device isn't all that hard, but to make it totally silent and examinable takes some effort...

Re: Mini Pool Balls Prediction or Bomb Proof

I don't mind electronic tricks, but in the case of "Bomb proof" (which is not electronic) I can only guess at one viable mechanical method. Since this is in the open forum, I will not mention any specifics, but I really like the idea.
