This was a classic stage illusion from the 1800's. I read an article on CNN from a person who replaced the glass with a thin polymer. It is really cool:

The metal coin coaster is a Tannen's effect. It uses two coins of different sizes.

So people on the cafe freaked out when John and Simon made a few things, but this is a well-established magic retailer doing far worse and no one on the cafe even blinks an eye.

The company where I work has an acoustic liquid transfer machine that can transfer using sound waves very tiny quantities of liquids (nano liters) used in pharmaceutical development.

I am not a big fan of this kind of trick, and for almost $1000, I think it's a bit disappointing. I do however like the Mystery China box which is remotely similar in some ways. Agreed that it probably uses threads. The walls of the box are kind of thick too. It begs the question as to why this cost...

My guess is Cubio- it is simple to make out of wood. If they really want to disappoint everyone (again) they will release a wooden Crazy Spots.

Yes, this is the new version. Not sure how it is different from the "old" version through. This one works well- it is a very clever principle.

I recently bought this one and it is super cool. The nice thing about it is that the spectator can actually push the ring down into the block and pull the ring out threaded. I had no idea how it worked until I bought it.
