Re: Rating the 2019 Tenyo line...

My thoughts:

1. Chocolate Break
2. Sword Reward
3. Dice Hopper
4. Print Impress
5. Instant Portrait

Chocolate Break is wonderful- really a beautiful prop and very clever in its workings.

It is an interesting subject for a packet trick. Looking forward to seeing more.

I saw on the Cafe that Tenyo Elite is working on a new item- anyone want to start making guesses regarding which one it will be? Hopefully something closer to Crystal Cleaver than Crazy Spots.

Re: Total Serendipity

I will likely pass, and agree they should mention how the prop is used during the trick. Shuffling the cards and then putting them into a box and covering them, only to remove the cover moments later to begin dealing is strange to me. I assume the switch takes place when the decks are under the cove...

Re: This one baffled me...

The performance is extremely well done. It is nice to be amazed Olaf- enjoy it! I was bidding on one these at auction about a year ago, but didn't have the high bid, unfortunately. Richard has some of the tightest tolerances I have ever seen in a magic prop- for example, the back panels on my Family...

Anyone here order one? Strange there are no reviews as most should have their copy by now. I wonder if people are disappointed.

Re: Magic Wagon - Chinese Lion Mystery

I passed on this one. As much as I like the look of this, there is likely a lot of set-up with the silk draped over the table, and I think it won't really be practical. I am curious to read the reviews when they come in.

Maybe it is a better piece on display on a shelf.

Re: Magic Wagon - Chinese Lion Mystery

I am on the fence- will think about today. I like it as a collectible, but I don't think it is a good trick. The workings are a bit obvious, and they importantly don't show a photo of the silk draped over the stand (kind of an important point since the silk is required for the method). The photos on...

Re: The Greatest Magician In the World

Yes, it was around $20 USD when it came out. I bought a used one a few years back. A new copy is very expensive these days. The other thing I like about the Setteducati book is that a lay person can go through the book on their own and fool themselves without ever figuring out the tricks. They are a...

Re: The Greatest Magician In the World

Among the books of this type, I would rank them in this order: 1) The Magic Show Book by Anne Benkovitz and Mark Setteducati 2) Illusionology: The Secret Science of Magic by Albert D. Schafer 3) The Greatest Magician in the World Hi John, do i understand it right, the other mentioned books by you a...

Re: The Greatest Magician In the World

My book came today as well. It's a very nice book and well-illustrated. All of the tricks are very easy to do. Among the books of this type (and they are all good), I would rank them in this order: 1) The Magic Show Book by Anne Benkovitz and Mark Setteducati 2) Illusionology: The Secret Science of ...

You are right Olaf (luckaly I saw your post before buying this one - thanks for helping me save my money!). I have the Dream Prediction box. This one is the same, but has a window. Yes Rob, with the Dream PB you can also do the ACAAN routine, no problem I heard from an experienced card artist that ...

Hi Rob, I have both Siam box and Dream Prediction. They are all the same basic effect, including this new version. I am going to pass on this one since it is so similar to the others I already have. The Siam box is really a gorgeous piece. They outdid themselves on that one with a nice wood inlay on...

Re: Magic Wagon Triple Dice Vision now available

I had this one but sold it. I think it was 'over-engineered' along the lines of what John mentioned. It doesn't seem necessary to have colors, position and number all as variables. It just makes it more complicated for the performer to remember. The workings/mechanism, however is very nice. The vers...
