It sure does look very sturdy and beautifull indeed On a sidenote, there are older effects like this one so I wouldn't call it a real 'knock-off'.

Yes, the Mikame version is great ... But I have an alternative version of the Mikame version, the Visual Block Penetration, beautifully made made by Sunil Batra, about twice as cheap ;-) , see this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgwvWqTMiDY So I see no reason to buy the Mikame version too......

I own the Mikame version (it is my 'biggest' trick to date) and it's wonderfull. A litle angle issue when showing the cube in the beginning though ;) If you like the effect don't hesitate to buy it because I believe it has been discontinued and Mr. Mikame unfortunately left us a few years ago. I agree, as I mentioned before the m¨¨¨¨ is easily spotted. You really should use a one-color table cloth or close up math and work with different light conditions.
If you really want to turn it hold the base so you cover the m*****. try a few times and see what worrks best
