Re: Master of Chance by Lubor Fiedler
Ok, so I had to make a quick design myself as well. Looks similar to the one at printables, but I made the blocks as one part with recesses for the color panels: master_of_chance.jpg Didn't make any decorations on the tube, though. Might add that if I decide I will use this trick. As of now, I'm sti...

Re: Master of Chance by Lubor Fiedler
It is clever, but it seems to me that the performance video from "Totally Magic" makes it look slightly better than in real life. In his video, the "spectator" chooses green, and "coincidentally" that is also the frontmost color of the block that the performer chose. In reality, the performer might ...

Thanks for the nice comments!
Olaf, Houdini escapes at the top, but I printed that part in two colors. There is also a slot on the inside for a note, which told her what the next task was.

Re: Houdini's Torture Cell
Each Christmas I give my wife a puzzle to solve to get her present, and this year I designed my own version of the puzzle in this topic: houdini1.jpg houdini2.jpg I only had a flat plate of acrylic, so I made it with windows. You can still see the insides well, but not as good as if the tube is all ...

Re: Final penetration by Mikame
This is an interesting effect, and I actually started creating my own many years ago. I can understand how it may fail, and I never finished mine for different reasons. One being that doing the move was tricky to get right, and mine also made too much noise at that point. I think perhaps laquered an...

That guy seems to have taken inspiration from my version, the "Die Dye Tube", including the name:

Re: Diamond Block Mystery - Magic Wagon
Here’s the first video … by Madison: https://youtu.be/ZcuTOa1s-Nk I'll admit I'm much less impressed now that I have seen a performance. It is way too obvious what happens, and such a mechanism really isn't difficult to construct. I think that even lay people will guess the modus operandi, and when...

Re: 2023 line and 2022 +1 announced
I would say that this is a good challenge for the 3D printer Maybe with a slightly more magical design ... You seem to have mind-reading skills, Olaf. A Vampire in a casket comes to mind. Yes, that could be a good idea, the biggest issue is to make the posture of the figure so that it is suit...

Re: Diamond Block Mystery - Magic Wagon
Sounds nice, Rob. It was smaller than I had anticipated, though. Not a lot of wood for the money.
It may well end up being something worth recreating, we'll see. I'm intrigued by your comment about the mechanism.

Thanks. No obvious moves to see, so maybe they were able to make it fully automatic in operation. I do agree with Olaf that the doll is perhaps a bit too toy-like, though.

Concerning Mr Danger, the video on the Tenyo Facebook site does show the full performance without any cuts. I’m looking forward to adding this to my collection. Plus, this looks like a trick that can be performed without worrying about it failing. I am completely unable to find that video. On the o...

Re: 2023 line and 2022 +1 announced
Mister Danger looks quite cool, and in the performance video, the spectator is allowed to insert the swords, but not to open the case after they have been removed. I wonder how inspectable it really is (if at all). In the video, they also skipped the part where the box is closed and locked (and henc...

Here’s a small effect that’s also pretty baffling: https://youtu.be/_Nj1v4XzpFE Neat, but only doable on camera. Not too difficult to figure out, though. Even if some aspects could be done with more than one method. I also think I know how Jandro's trick was done, but it depends a little on the rul...

Oh, wow. That sounds painful, but I guess the mirror to be drilled is fairly thin, which makes it difficult to drill without cracking.Simon Corneille wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 6:55 amThey finally managed to make 75. They had 60 yesterday, when I posted here. They had to drill +/- 500 mirrors in order to make their 75 sets.
