Re: T-142 Lancelot
Watching Madison's presentation, you can see why the Tenyo original using the telephone card is better: it would start at 2 minutes in on Madison's video. No need to explain the bill, the plastic envelope, the unprinted business card with the odd hole cut in the middle. None of that exists in Hirosh...

Yujii Wada, the chief demonstrator for Tenyo at the Tokyo Disney Resort, does a far better job with the the puppet.

Re: Paul Gertner Cups & Steel Balls
The "Marked Cards" routine you refer to was created by Dr. Ewer and published in Genii. What you are seeing is Gertner's clever presentation of the idea.

Re: T-142 Lancelot
The method IS mechanical: a plastic ledge pushes another piece of plastic. The method they came up with for the west, where telephone cards were not widely used, is less effective because there are more props. Fewer props = greater simplicity. The more simple and direct a trick is, the more effectiv...

Re: Paul Gertner Cups & Steel Balls
He considers the feather act, which I saw him do at a Tannen Jubilee, to be a total embarrassment. That's why he stopped doing it after only a few performances.

Re: T-142 Lancelot
You should read Tenyoism so you can learn that the version sold in the US is not the same trick sold in Japan. We received a weak adaption of their original.

Re: Bicycle Elite Edition Playing Cards
I almost always use red-backed cards. Better for certain sleights. Just received a few of these decks. They're much thinner than what Bicycle usually makes now, which I like (and what the cards were like when I was younger). They're not like rocks when you take them out of the box, which is nice, bu...

Re: Tenyo's New Plus 1 Explained
Yes, there are two outcomes (that is, two gimmicked cards). You can use either one, so it can be repeated providing you can switch that card (pretty simple in the pocket).

Tenyo's New Plus 1 Explained
Yasuo Amano has just put up a post about Magic Chocolate, the new Plus 1 effect. Use Google translate and you'll get a rough idea of the trick (best to use Chrome as your browser, and the translation will happen automatically).

Re: Your favourite rare tenyo piece!
My favorite rare Tenyo piece is "Invisible Man." I think it was Kato who put it all together into a routine. It's cute. The invisible man idea comes from Dr. Sawa.

Re: 2018 tenyo
The tricks look pretty badly done. If they were great, and sales were good, I don't think the license holders would have gotten Tenyo involved. In addition to the two released last fall, I believe there will be more Doraemon tricks from Tenyo this year.

Try Fantasma magic in New York. Ask for old Tenyo: they probably have some in the back.
In Chicago try both Magic Inc. and Ash's Magic Shop.
I don't know about Indianapolis.

There's a handling of Tenyo's Nest of Boxes in my book The Complete Works of Derek Dingle. It does not use the holder, among other interesting things.

Happy to be of service, Victor. Despite this effect not having the greatest rep, I had a much better feeling about it after watching its creator, Billy, perform it for me in Tokyo. He has other good ideas as well.

Amano does not deceptively edit his videos.
The Halloween trick with the Card Case was supposed to go into Tenyoism, but I just ran out of both space and energy. The method is very clever.
