Japanese online stores

Post by AlexBrazil » Sat Jul 11, 2015 1:31 pm

I just saw a great tip from Brett about a Japanese online store: PlazaJapan.

Please, could you guys suggest other Japanese online stores that sell Tenyo?

Thanks!

Tokyo Hobby & Magico Japan

Hobby takes a long while to get to you. Magico costs a bit more, but you get your stuff faster.

Tokyo Hobby has a better selection if you're starting out. Magico has some harder to find items

Oh, yes! I have bought many items from Magico Japan. Hitomi is a very nice person.

But those two just sell in eBay, right? I was actually asking about Japanese sites that sell magic, like PlazaJapan that you suggested, Brett.

Plaza Japan is the website based version of Tokyo Hobby--the website is even cheaper than their EBay store. As far as other Japanese based stores--especially websites, there's not many that I know about that wheel and deal that much Tenyo.

What are you looking for?

amiami.com sells some tenyo but they are frequently out of stock. Best to order from them when an item first comes out.
You can also try Rakuten Global. Rakuten is a huge online mall with hundreds of stores. Rakuten Global just shows the stores that will ship internationally. There aren't a huge amount of stores that sell Tenyo but there are some.

Those are also good suggestions, Elliot.

I was wondering if it is cheaper to buy on online stores than on eBay. The bad thing is that normally stores won't inform a lower value in the customs form (except SEO Magic).

The price in Japanese stores is usually much less but it also depends on shipping cost. Some stores only ship EMS which is fast and fully tracked but rather expensive. While some are willing to ship small packet also which costs less.
I don't know how flexible stores are as far as customs. Never paid much attention to them as we don't pay customs in the USA.

So imagine my situation: the dollar is expensive in Brazil nowadays (1 Dollar = 3,30 Reais) and we have to pay almost 70% on import taxes (they apply to every package from online stores or products over $50 sent by individuals). :-(

70?! Ouch! That's an awful lot after you've already paid for shipping. I think my collection would be a lot smaller if I had to pay double what I paid for it to get it here.

Oh, yes. That's why I cannot buy from stores (except SEO Magic). And I always have to ask individual sellers to inform a value under $50
