I wonder if there is a higher quality level of molded plastic which could be used to create Tenyo tricks?
In many instances plastic seems to be the perfect solution for certain tricks. What do you think about paying higher prices for a higher quality product? Personally speaking I think that it's realistic (within reason) to expect the cost of quality magic effects to be higher today than it was 20-30 years ago.

I am a BIG fan of wood, (taking a sidebar to congratulate Simon on his brilliant work) but not every trick needs to be a "wood" product.
and now, on with the show ...

Tenyo Elite released their second run of Ultra Tube and they didn't sell out! I find that to be quite surprising.

They said that they notified more than 50 people on their request to be contacted list but still have some remaining after more than a week. They are now offering the remaining pieces on their website.

Anyone else surprised by this? Could it be a result of their timing?

For me, Moonspinner was their most improved release. Zig Zag Cig was their most amazing release in that I can't believe they pulled it off in wood. Ultra Tube was important in that it was an opportunity to own a Tenyo Holy Grail. Fortune Sticks wasn't a bad idea I guess although not one of my most desired choices by any means. I love Matchsticks but didn't like the result.

So there are my humble opinions. Your feedback would be appreciated.

I was on the list, but did not move on this.

I have Tenyo "Ultra Tube," and like it very much just the way it is.

Anyone have a convincing argument for this release?

It's wood!

Agreed. I never bought the Elite version because I don't need it.

I have yet to see anyone review it. Does it work well? Does it hold up over time? If it had any problems, I guess someone would have posted them somewhere.

The one pro I can think of is that it's a more professional looking prop made of wood rather than plastic.

I have the Tenyo Elite "Ultra Tube." It's slightly larger than the original (not surprising). It works exactly like the original and just as well. Very happy with it.

I happen to have dupes of both Tenyo Elite items: Zig Zag Cig and Ultra Tube. If anyone is interested give me a shout at moobooks@verizon.net

That's basically it I think :)

When the original Ultra Tubes sold for +500 USD the Elite version was a bargain. Now that prices have dropped all matters what you want in your collection.

The fact the wooden version is a bit larger is something I don't like since I have rather small hands - this was a major factor in deciding I'm not interested in it. On top of that Ultra Tube is a trick I actually almost never, ever perform ... . Don't ask me why ... the secret is ingenious, it just doesn't appeal to me for some reason :?

Also, I would have bought the Elite version in a second when they would have incorporated a locking mechanism which could stand casual handling by specs. You can absolutely NOT give Ultra Tube out of your hands at all, perhaps that's the reason why I don't like it that much as some others do. Nonetheless I'm very happy I have one in my collection of course.

Honestly, if I were to use it in a routine, I'd treat it as a 'cigar'. Insert tobacco (big die), and tap out the ash (tiny dice).

The wooden one looks sort of like a cigar...a rather giant one. It's just more like it than it's blue, older brother.

Nice idea :)
Hey if the plastic one was water tight how cool would it be to pour in water and tip out a tiny ice cube!

Got you covered!

Couple it with a trick like 'Smoke' or 'Vapr' to give it a sort of nitro-glycerin effect

Didn't realize they'd done a second run of those. Better, I think, to have put out a new product.

If anyone remembers my wooden version of mirror mate, that might be a good idea for them.

There was an ultra tube on ebay.com must be the first version as the wording is straight and not slanted as the later version

Sold to Mr. Ed! (I've always wanted to write that.)

I also have a dupe Tenyo Elite Zig Zag Cig if anyone is interested.

I'm surprised that no one mentions the newest Tenyo elite item, a wooden version of Magical Door.

OK I must admit that I don't plan to order it. I actually like the original more.

Is this a must have for the Tenyo aficionados ?

I wanted to wait and see what others said before I mentioned it. Call it an act of kindness. :D

I too like the original better and don't feel that this one is at all necessary. Just maybe, if they came up with a truly deluxe design to the props, then it would have been worthwhile but I am not seeing that. Just my humble opinion...

With all of the great old Tenyos, why do this one? Why I ask...why?

I won't be ordering it either.

They chose to make it because it is easy and they are lazy.
I have not or will never buy anything they make no matter what they choose.
