Tenyo Elite

Post by Simon Layland » Fri Sep 04, 2015 8:42 am

Tenyo Elite release a 2nd run of Zig Zag ( cigarette ) any day now but have announced they will also release a totally new elite item.
Does any of you have any clues about what might be the new Elite product.
I want the Zig Zag but with postage they ask you for your skin ,what I don't want to do is buy it then they release a better trick.
Someone here always knows something ?

No idea Simon ... they're always very, very mysterious about their new release.

What about the second run of UltraTube? Banners are still being shown in the Magic Cafe.

Oh man, I wish I didn't read your post. I just got an idea for the Ultra Tube Elite for a strolling routine. Dammit. That is so out of my price range, it's ridiculous.

You have a metallic die and go into it about how the properties of metal and rust and how the decomposition returns it to nature. And then you produce a wooden die.

But as for the new Elite item. I want to say 'Clean Cut' but that's WAY too close to ZZC, but would be a logical follow up, I think.

To be honest, Ii haven't heard much about the next one. For Ultra Tube, they made a HUGE deal about 'getting the mechanics to work in wood. So I'm guessing they are doing something that's already on the market (like a wooden Cubio or Super Cubio), or something that's easier to make like 'Black Hole' or 'Parabox'. I figure that they are making a sort of 'breather'/'stall for time' from the last one and a way to transition into the next mechanically ingenious one.

And I'm calling it now, the Elite after the next one will be Alpha Tube

What is so hard to understand is Elite take so long to make something they already made before, if they have permission they should be able to produce it inside a few months.
The good thing about Ultra tube Elite is it actually costs less than the original Ultra tube in todays market.
I want them both but the Ultra Tube Elite is the better value for money.
I'm hoping the new Elite item will be something like Sidetrack, Prison box or Geometrick but I think Brett will right in saying Elite will produce something more easy to build.

In the case of Ultra Tube, it's a bit bigger than the original.

I figure that when you're working with wood vs plastic, you aren't able to take as many liberties with making small hidden gimmicks and end up making a product whose dimensions are going to be much different from the original.

That's just my take on it

I am still waiting to hear from someone that bought the Elite Ultra Tube when it first came out and tell me now it still works smoothly like the plastic one without some failure due to warped wood or swelling from humidity or has started to separate on joints or have small crack. Anyone have one that can confirm it is still flawlessly working as when they got it? Or did it ever work flawlessly?

I have only seen on presentation video that has done ultra tube without it looking awkward and suspicious the way the hand is holding the tube in a cramped way and that video is done by Oral Roberts. He made it look so natural it was perfect. :)

I reckon it's going to be blue crystal in wood. And if it's not then I'll make it ;)

As you can see in the picture below, the banner in the Magic Cafe has been inviting people to write about the possible new run of UltraTube. I have written them several times, but they do not answer.

John Mazza has published a post comparing the original UltraTube with the Tenyo Elite's one. Sorry, I am writing this in my iPhone and I can't find the post right now.

Oh, I read in the Magic Cafe that a participant had met THE person that produces Tenyo Elite's wooden versions. It seems that they are made by ONE person. Maybe that is the reason why they take so long to sell the products.

Brett, what a great idea you had!

Well I think this picture suggests it might be the Blue Crystal that Tenyo Elite will release next.

Yeah..I saw they post it on facebook Simon. But if I am not mistaken, tenyo elite has already released blue crystal. Was it only a prototype ? http://www.tenyoelite.com/products-bluecrystal.php

That is strange Victor, and it is made from anodized aluminum, not from wood!
No price tag also. Must be a prototype because the picture says Prototype.

They must have changed their mind and decided to make it from wood.

You're welcome Simon. But as Rob said it is strange, if I click the product button it didn't display BC in the list. Well maybe they didn't display discontinued item anymore.

Rob, you can find the price when you click the paypal button.

I think the Ali one was a prototype that never made it to production. I wonder if there will be any interesting routines for it? If it's the same size as the original it would go very nicely with the Vile Vortices Add-on for Blue crystal ;)

Elite never released Blue Crystal, neither did they ever release Soft Coins - they were planning to but never did.
So yes, this could be the Elite Blue Crystal, in wood :)

This picture looks like Tenyo Matchsticks to me. May I ask where the picture was taken?

I'm not a big fan of the effect ... but this could be great for the professional magician who hasn't already bought Simon's version.

This happens to be one of my favorite effects.
For me it's Tenyo "Top Ten" material.
Presented correctly it is mind boggling ...
So clever!

Simon's version is absolutely brilliant!
and now, on with the show ...

I'm kind of mixed on it.

It looks nice, I'll give it that. I'm glad that they are keeping up with the Elite line. But considering the complexities with the last few, this one feels like a 'breather' so they can get back on the horse for next year.

Honestly, I'd like to see more metal tricks in the Elite line. I believe that the metal Moonspinner and Fortune Sticks were absolute improvements of the originals instead of being strictly wooden collectors pieces. That's what I'd like to see more of in the Elite line
