I am Going to Share a Secret with You

I can only say this: if you bought "Ghost Camera" when it was first released, you should buy a new one now.

Don't ask me any questions. But you'll definitely perform the trick more often.

But Richard, how we can indicate it is the first release or it`s a new one ? Is there any visual differences, product code, etc ? Well...I should not ask

By the way... I`m currently amazed how you really "bombing" this forum with interesting information.
Thanks a lot :)

You have to buy from someone who will have just bought stock from a store in Japan in the last three or four months. Like Hitomi on eBay.

I have to say you definitely got me curious.
Did they find a way to make it more examinable? Maybe added more reveals?
I just may have to pick up another one of these although maybe I'll wait a bit to make sure I get the new version.

Okay... curiosity appropriately piqued, so I just ordered another from Hitomi. Here's hoping that the difference(s) will be obvious.

Thanks for the "heads up," Richard!

I really can't write anything else, but you should be pleased.
This was, by the way, the best-selling trick of the 2016 line in Japan.

Regarding to this topic, I tend to wait feedback from the community before buying Tenyo especially the brand new product. Seems that Tenyo makes improvement after releasing new product by getting feedback from the market before it becomes final version. Same thing happened when we discuss difficulties on handling Trap Box : viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1040&p=19261&hilit=trap+box#p19253

Well Tenyo does get these items out to the Market very quickly so I guess sometimes things are not perfected.

I am guessing that they improved on the printing on the cloth and it works better but that is just a guess.

If the hank could be handed out for examination, that would be perfect. Or at least I expect Tenyo delivers 2 hankies, gimmick and normal one.

They changed the type of ball used in "Magical Alchemy" a month or two after it was on the market.

Didn't know about that either. What is the new ball like?
I'm starting to think that pre-ordering the new tricks every year is not the greatest idea. ;)

No wonder....sometimes I see people perform with silver ball sometimes with gold ball. Is that the difference or it`s just my eyes problem ?

Okay... now that I have it, I can't find any difference between the two. Either the change is imperceptibly subtle, or Hitomi sent me one from the original batch.

For "Alchemy" the original ball was just gold plated, however the plating wears off quickly if you perform the trick a lot. They began including solid brass balls when the first run had sold out.

Evan, sorry that you got a hanky from the first batch. It might be stock that Hitomi had on hand, or older store stock. If you had a new one, you'd see the different plain as day.

Guess I'll wait a bit, and then try again.

Next time I will be more specific with Hitomi. She has always been great with special requests.

I hope the printing on the hanky is better camouflaged. The trick itself is, as I have it now (original batch I'm sure), amost unworkable because people see the printing on the hanky ... .

I think, having 1st version of production into a collection is not something that we should regret because everything works properly actually. In the future(maybe next 20 years :D), if it becomes really collectable, the 1st batch version is even more rare and collectable than the improved version. Same thing happened to the 1st release of Ultra Tube with alligator box.

After watching a performance of ghost camera...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHakqp_9rcw
I had an idea which would be easy enough to do and may give it a nice kicker finish. (I don't own this one so correct me if I'm missing anything)
In the clip he places the deck face down under the hanky and takes a picture, shows the ghostly image then removes the face down deck. What I'm wondering is this. Can you have a shimmed card in your deck that you control to cover the selection, so that when you place the deck under the hanky it looks like a face down deck but is in fact face up wit ha face down shim on top. If you secrete a thin magnet on the hanky, when you lift it off, you have an added ending where the camera has also caused the selection to turn over and come to the top. Just a thought.
Now you see me...
