From the early 1960s, the very elusive Tenyo Sea Monkeys. Still shink-wrapped. They came in two kinds of packaging: a tube, like this one, and a box.

That is SOLID GOLD! The graphics, the vintage tenyo logo (my personal favourite) and sea monkeys!
That's an amazing find, where did you find this beauty?

I'm pretty sure that I still have the one that came in the box. I bought it from Al Flosso!

Thanks for posting Richard. Is this the "Sea Monkey" of 1971? (see below)

1970 May Company name changed to Tenyo Co., Ltd.
1971 May "Sea Monkey" released, a novel pet that is born when the egg is placed in water.

Victor, Google "Sea Monkeys" and you'll find out the entire history.

Yes, Bob, but I thought it was earlier than 1971.

Simon, I have friends in Japan. :)

Akira Yamada saw this novelty item being sold in the United States and thought he could use it to broaden his company's business. Sea Monkeys and Backgammon changed the Tenyo company.

My late friend Al Mann (we were close in the 1980's) loved Al Flosso.

Al Flosso was my magical grandfather. I spent a good deal of time with him. I have a few stories I will share some time.
