Hello everyone,

As we knew already, there are many kind of rope tricks existed in the market and even Tenyo created some of them like Hungarian Linking Ropes, Nightmare in Color, 2 in 1 rope, Spinning plate on rope, Four Nightmare DX, melting loop, etc. Some of the rope tricks use bright color rope (like Four Nightmare DX, spinning plate on rope). White is the cleanest but most sensitive with dirt and become quickly dirty if we perform it often or store it in the wrong way. There are some others using bright color like orange in Hungarian Linking Ropes, etc.

My question is: does anyone has any experience on cleaning magic/gimmick ropes especially ropes loaded with special gimmick ? Are they washable ? Any special cleaning tools, liquid or substance to support the cleaning process ? or there is NO WAY to clean them up ?

Most magicians just throw away rope when it gets dirty. If it has a gimmick in it, like "4 Nightmares DX," the trick is cheap enough that they probably just buy a new one. If it's a very fancy or expensive gimmick, then the item is probably on display or in a drawer and not seeing much use.

Rope cleaning can be a hassle. I make sure the expensive ones like Nightmare In Color don't get dirty

Yes David. Washing hands with soap before performing rope trick and have a clean storage to store the props could help.
