Anyone know of a good source? Not fussed about BNIP as long as it works. If anyone has an old one I'm up for trades :)

Isn't this the worst Tenyo ever made? :)

It's one of the few Tenyo here that never get discussed.

I thought Money Cutter was the worst

Because it's so worse I never bought it :)

But you must have a special reason to obtain this one Simon?

Pmd you with a source.
I'm not sure why this would be considered the worst.
I like it much better than Money Cutter.
Sure it's a funny looking contraption but it's a pretty unique effect and not something your spectators would likely have seen before.

Interesting topic Simon. I have to agree with Elliot and I personally love cutting edge for a nice quick effect. It`s not quite logical to see plastic prop to cut a real coin in half but I would rather see it as magical illusion ;) The illusion for CE is perfect and it`s angle proof as long as we maintain the prop and perform it correctly. The unique design of this prop makes this very iconic to Tenyo but unfortunately most of the collectors love more the design than the effect itself. I have a feeling that CE will be not become a Tenyo favorite for collectors, but collectors will still look for it so this will become collectible also.
Hope you will find one soon Simon. Wish you a very good luck ! ;)

Sorry I have to disagree also for this point :) This is a kind of magic with innocent looking and fully examinable prop and "the magic is in you" Similar to nest of wallets, burglar balls, chalk paddle routine, etc. We need to know the technique to perform it or we will fail.

Japanmagic came up with a nice convincing way to perform this too.

I like the Japanmgic demo as well. Lots of times, I am not keen on a Tenyo trick and then see a demo usually from Roberto or Japanmagic and change my mind. They have a way of showing the intended value of a Tenyo release. :)

The demo does make the trick better but I still don't like Money Cutter. It's definitely one of my worst tricks.
Though, according to Richard in Tenyosim, if you use a 1000 yen bill you can open the case and show the blade has pierced the bill. I'd like to see a demo of the trick performed that way.

It's always been 'the one that got away' for me. I had a choice in davenports between CE and 'oh no!' And went for the latter. I like the effect and it's gadgetty nature. Thanks Elliot for the source I shall investigate :)

There's only one problem with Cutting Edge: angle issues ... . It's the kind of trick I would present as a pocket illusion and in most cases even explain how it was done when people see something out of the ordinary, which they always do ... .
But ... as mentioned above it is very original and Tenyoesque :)

By the way there's one for sale on auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tenyo-The-Cutti ... SwCU1YqizJ but the shipping to Europe is rather expensive ... .
[edit] Here's another one, better priced: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tenyo-T-191-The ... 2362973505 - hah, I now see it ships from Belgium and I know the guy. Very kind person, you should contact him Simon, perhaps he'll except a reasonable offer :)

Simon just reminded me of the time that I visited Davenports and I remember them having two Tenyos that day...Magic Painting and Alpha Tunnel. I went with Alpha Tunnel and am glad I did! I ended up with Magic Painting some years later when it was re-released in different packaging and at a much better price. :)

I really like OH NO! It's a very cool convincing brilliantly designed optical illusion and a very unique version of the classic finger chopper effect. I consider it to be an underrated Tenyo.

The visual of lifting up a portion of your finger is shocking!

The one from Belgium didn't sell Simon ... now is the time to make an offer in case you haven't found the trick yet :) Shipping shouldn't be much either ... .

I thought China Surprise wins the worst Tenyo trick category. No?

China Surprise worst ever.
They must have made this as a joke to see if they can sell anything. :D

Inside Japan, China Surprise was the best seller that year.

Outside of Japan? The cultural reference is lost and it loses a lot of its bite.

Because it's more of a 'regional' trick, I honestly don't classify it amongst best/worst because the any consensus on it is polarizing.

It's one of the few Tenyo that you just have to acknowledge that 'it exists' and leave it at that.

Read about China Surprise in Tenyoism. You'll be surprised.
