Tenyo Dracula Bank:

Post by Jaime C. » Tue Jan 14, 2014 5:53 pm

I just received my won item(used)Tenyo Dracula Bank. I'm not after with its effect but rather go for its look and quality which is nice for display :)

I checked some of my Tenyo items and noticed with Tenyo Dracula Bank at the bottom labelled ''Manufactured by Tenyo...Made in China while the other are labelled ''Created and Manufactured by Tenyo....Japan :?

Anyway it is not a big issue for me but i just want to know, is my Tenyo Dracula Bank fake :?:

I just checked and mine is marked "Made in Japan."

I am not sure if yours is genuine or not. There does seem to be a lot more of them available recently.

How is the quality?

Usually the knock offs are no comparison to a genuine Tenyo item. Tenyo's manufacturing process is amazing.

Some photos of the item and also marked ''GOLD CREST INC SANTA BARBARA CALIFORNIA''

The quality looks fine to me but it's made from China so mine is fake or maybe from the photos you can tell or see the difference.

I just checked my second one and the box and no mention of "China" or "Gold Crest." Does not mean that what you have is a "fake" but the "Made in China" surprises me.

I would not worry too much about it, there is probably some explanation for it.

Maybe you can ask RK on Genii, maybe he knows the answer.

Both of my Dracula Bank say "Made in China" on the box as well as on the bank itself. Interestingly, on the bank underneath where is says China it looks like something was sort of removed and the "China" in a different font than the rest of the words. Either they mistakenly labeled it Japan and then corrected it to China or they started making it in Japan and then moved it to China.

Some other Tenyo items I have that are made in China are:
Spin Bank
Art Bank
Puzzle Bank
Phantom Clock
Magic World Set

I think items that have a lot of plastic and/or are more toy like, they have made in China. It is probably a lot cheaper to produce it there.

Yes you can easily determine the fake one from the genuine with the box/package alone. I received yesterday the fake EOTI and i see the big difference between the box of my won Dracula Bank no comparison, fake is fake.

We have the same Elliot mine also looks scraped and labelled with China. Does Tenyo Co. allow to manufacture now in China :?:

How well does the fake EOTI works? Is it good enough for its price?

No, it does not work (at least mine doesn't). The statue is never ligned up properly with the case.

If the bottom of your bank is imprinted with Manufactured by Tenyo, it’s not a fake. Gold Crest was Tenyo’s distributor in the US so it’s the genuine Tenyo item.
It's a Tenyo day in the neighborhood!
