Forget me not coin

Hi guys, does anyone have a forget me not coin they'd like to trade or sell? I've been looking for one for ages. I've only ever seen one on eBay and that was a few years ago.
Hope we're all getting through the winter blues ok, spring is on the way.

This was done very quick with a not-so-good pencil so the quality of the reveal is not the best, but still OK.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed as well. I thought it would be something that you could not see at all in the picture on the coin. Still, it is a clever way to reveal a chosen card.

When you know that it is the 5 of hearts you can 'backtrack' and see it on the coin, however if you hand the coin out for examination at the beginning of the effect no one will notice anything, at least that's my experience. The hearts blend in perfectly with the leaf petals.

I think this beautiful prop deserve better routine in the performance. I`m thinking to do it like this:
Preparation:
1. You have a playing card symbol 5 of Hearts with "Forget me coin" as black and white picture/ symbol printed or drawn on the back of the playing card. I prefer red back if you use bicycle or light color back in order to show the contrast and clear picture of the coin.
2. Prepare and locate the 5 of H in the deck to be forced in the performance. Choose a forcing method that you will not show the back of the playing card. Maybe with the short card and riffle force.
3. Prepare a square (approx. 10x10 cm) of flash paper, lighter and pencil and put it into your pocket.

Performance:
1. introduce the coin by saying that it is a forget me not coin. Let the spec examine it. At this point they still have no idea what to do with the coin. Tell em that you will perform something that the spec will never forget
2. Take a deck of playing card and force the card. Let the spec. remember it. and put the deck on the table.
3. Take a flash paper and perform the classic coin rip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAeB2aVGeI4
4. At this point, do not steal the coin yet. Take the pencil and show that you will draw something unique with on the paper with the coin inside. Let the spec to think of the chosen card.
5. Rub the paper with the pencil on the flash paper and reveal the 5 of H (1st effect)
6. Steal the coin out and take the lighter from your pocket, at the same leave the coin inside your pocket
5. Put the rubbed flash paper and put it on the top of the deck
6. Burn the flash paper.
7. Ribbon spread the card and show that only one back has a symbol/drawing of the coin. The 5 of H! (2nd effect)

I think by vanishing the coin at the end will take the "heat" from the coin away and misdirect the attention to the chosen card. It is already fair enough because the spec can examine the coin at the first.

Definitely an interesting routine to try out.
I agree that this trick will benefit from being part of a larger routine as opposed to a stand alone quick trick.
Has anyone used the other other side of the coin as well?

Indeed Jimmy, the spectator needs to look at the seemingly 'easy to remember' drawing and then draw it on a piece of paper by heart. And NO ONE succeeds! It's a great lead in to the actual effect and part of the whole Forget-Me-Not routine.

If you have some sleight of hand ability (beyond mine!) you could probably do a nice version of Larry Jennings trick "Coin Cut" with the Forget-Me-Not Coin, then reveal at the end that you new what card was going to be picked because of the rubbing.

I've toyed with the idea for a long time but it requires sculpting and casting. Unless I laser etch to different powers and then cast in pewter but I'm not sure that'd work!

It's such a pitty you guys never snatched one up a couple of years ago. They were easy available in Japan from Magico Japan, which was the only Japanese seller there was at that time. Costed me about 20 bucks if I remember correctly. I should have bought several
But who knows Tenyo will eventually rerelease this effect, as they did with several items in the not so distant past.
There are (were) coloring books that use(d) this type of special printed paper, I got several when I was a kid. You have/had to gently 'paint' the pages in the book with a pensil and an image shows/showed up. Not sure what material was used to 'print' the image itself - it was somethin 'oily'. Not the same as a metal coin, but it could be inforporated in a magic trick too. Show a blank paper, rub it with a pencil and a card shows up.
