Well, not as fanatic as Tenyo, but when I see one that I don't have yet for a reasonable price I'll often buy it. I focus mainly on the non-Tenyo ones like Tongue Tied, Missing Masterpiece, Hidden Sun or Eye Of The Paraoh.

Rope Of Calcutta is also a good one, it is Suketina but better (top which covers the move and a spring which helps the move).

I also like their electronic effects (Guardian of the Grave, Secret of the Sphinx and Spirit in the Coffin). I own two Spirit In The Coffins because they tend to brake easily. I once opened a broken one and can tell you that the quality is so-so!

Yes, I plan to display them with my Tenyo's :)

By the way, from the non-Tenyo remakes I am still missing Secret Slate, Map of Skull Island and Invisible Hook. So if anyone has one of these you know where to find me :)

I have a nice collection as well. I think I am only missing 4 of them (Vault Vision, Soft Coins, Mystery Dice, and Clean Cut). I'll probably get them eventually but since I have the Tenyo versions I am in no rush.

In general I prefer the Tenyo versions over the Magic Works versions where there is a difference.

Although I do like alot of the Magic Works original effects and especially the electronic ones as well.

I did not realize that Spirit in the Coffin breaks. Which part usually breaks? I will have to get another one then as that is their best effect IMO.

I have all my Magic Works in my Tenyo cabinet for now. They are all stuffed into the bottom shelf.

Anyone else notice that the text differs on the Vault visions, the mb one says vault vision whereas the Tenyo version says money game.

Yes. I'm not sure which one I like better. Vault Vision sort of lets on that the box is doing the trick while Money Game makes it look more like a toy. Probably some other design would have been better.

By the way there is a page on Angelo Carbone's Tenyo site that highlights all the differences between the MB and Tenyo versions:

I like your collection Elliot, especially the magic sets.

I have about a dozen Magic Works items. Most are second hand pieces from auctions. I just checked the condition of the tricks and all were placed in a storage box. The twister that I have is dismantled. I cannot reassemble it.

Someday I will open that storage box and learn all the tricks it contains.

Elliot, the part that brakes has to do with the magnet. When the lid is put on the box the mechanism starts if I recall correctly. When I opened up the coffin I saw a litle tube with some iron or other metal fillings - when the metal 'moved' (because it is attracted to the magnet) the mechanism starts. It is hard to explain without pictures by hand unfortunately (and I don't have any).
When it fails you'll notice all the buttons will work, but putting on and off the lid won't do/start anything. Even in one of my two versions (which I bought BNIP) it is a bit trial and error to make it work ... .

Thanks for the info. The one I have seems to work fine but I'll look out for another one just in case.

Thanks Bob. One of these days I'll get an actual display cabinet but for now that's all I have room for. I managed to stuff everything in but am hoping Tenyo comes out with micro tricks this year so I can fit those in as well.
One more Floating Carpet sized trick and i definitely have to buy some more space. :)

I'm all about performing with the originals of the Magic Works line.

I think there are some neat routines that you can build around them.

They seem to be in low quantity these days.

I do not have one, however they go for reasonable prices on EBay (around $30). And it's the more available electronic Magic Works (Spirit in the Coffin being much better, but has some fragility issues from what I'm told)

I have all the MW effects.

My very favorite is "Spirit In The Coffin."
Angelo Carbone wrote that his favorite is this effect as well. (see link)
"http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/view ... &forum=258

I also love "Severed Skeleton" (to me this version is even better than Zig Zag Cig which is an all-time fav)

These are fun effects which I consider part of my Tenyo collection.

The seller states that the bottom piece has broken off which I believe is common with the Magic Works version.

I remember reading some time ago that their version of the trick was not made by Tenyo and had issues.

Just a friendly heads up! :)

Indeed Steve, I remember someone saying the MW version doesn't work as fluent as the Tenyo one.
