T 021 - Dyeing Paper v.s T-199 - Dynamite Tube

Post by VictorS » Mon May 23, 2016 5:08 am

Hello everyone,

I`m visiting Planet Tenyo and going around T series countries and land on T-021 Dyeing Paper and T-199 Dynamite Tube. Looking at the effects, they look quite similar beside the tube design and the climax ending for Dynamite tube. Since I haven`t owned both of them, what is the difference between both of props ? Do they have different gimmick / construction ? Which one is better ? Sorry If someone has asked this question previously. Maybe you can help me to link it to the thread.

Thanks in advance and wish you a great day ! :)

Cheers,
Vic

Dynamite tube is essentially a fancier version of Dyeing paper. The gimmick in Dynamite Tube can hold more than one load and is hidden in a different manner than Dying paper.
The construction of Dynamite tube is also better as the paper is plastic coated while Dyeing Paper is plain construction paper.

I have a same impression too. Thanks for the explanation Elliot :) Sure I will go for Dynamite Tube since it is still easily available on the market :) But Dyeing Paper has surely already become a collector`s item.

Just so you know the Japanese and English versions of Dynamite Tube are different. The Japanese version comes with party poppers as the finale while the English version comes with confetti.
This is because they don't sell those type of party poppers in the USA but I understand you can get them in other countries.

Speaking of Dynamite Tube I just came across a Disney version of this effect.
Probably another one of those Disney items that was made for a year or two and then disappeared...

Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it is smaller that the standard version and it looks like they retained the just popper part of the gimmick and left out the silk part.

Thanks for the update Elliot :) I still love the silk part more than the popper part :)
David posted once a nice funny routine which I think better to link it here :
