There's a second one? I only saw one in the link. What's the other one like? I only saw about four tricks in the one kit, and I didn't feel that a lot of them were that great.

Not sure which kit you're looking at. But here's one with 20 tricks:

Unfortunately, the kit's expensive; and the directions are in Japanese. Can you tell me about any others?

This sucks. I put Crazy Spots in my cart, and I see no way to pay for it without a credit or debit card, and I don't have either of those.

Jason...was it a genuine brand new Tenyo Crazy Spots? If yes, how much was it with shipping.

Maybe I can help you out.

I don't know if it was brand new or not, and I also don't know the shipping. If you do a google search and put Tenyo trick Crazy Spots, it should be the first Amazon site you see.

They want $14.75 and $1.48 for shipping. Tell you what...if you want one of those, send me a book of first class postage stamps which costs around $10 and I will send you a brand spanking new genuine one of those. How does that sound?

I sent an email to the one who's selling the frog version of Card Surgery and 4-Dimensional Trunk, and they haven't sent anything back.

Thank you kindly. You know me. If I have to choose between spending $20 or more for a Tenyo trick or six dollars for a knockoff. I'll get the knockoff.

John doesn't sell knock offs Jason, they are mostly add ons that require the original Tenyo item. He also produces original stand alone effects, but everything is described and explained on his website.

I will also vouch that John is no slouch. He's good people.

His add-ons only work if you have the original Tenyo in hand to utilize said add-ons.

You mean I'd have to get the original Tenyo Card Surgery for $20? That sucks. How come the frog version doesn't do the same thing? I also saw 4-Dimensional Trunk for seven dollars. Is that an add-on too?

The frog version is not an alternate version of the trick. It's a set of specially made cards to be used with the actual trick which you would need to own. That's why it's called an add-on. You are adding it on to the original trick.

John's add-ins are meticulously designed to work with the original props. He takes a lot of care over the graphics and also to select the right materials to use.

Then I might as well buy the original version without bothering to get the add-on. Is his seven dollar 4-dimensional Trunk an add-on?

Jason, if you have the opportunity, do yourself a favour and actually read the part of his website where he sells tricks & add-ons: http://funstuffonly.com/tenyo/buysell/iimas/ .

His page is clearly devided in two sections: Stand Alone Magic & Add-ons for Tenyo Magic. 4D-trunk is in the second section.

I did and don't like his prices. I've seen the two tricks I keep asking about for sale on eBay for less than $20, but they don't come with English instructions. Richard Kaufman said he couldn't find his Card Surgery extra to give me. Do you have one you can sell me?

I don't think there is a knockoff of Card Surgery. Since I have jumped into Tenyo and magic 2 years ago, I haven't seen or heard of one.

The cheapest one I can find is $25 on Ebay. That is including the shipping.

Jason have you ever tried making your own tricks? If you have a lot of time on your hands and not much money it's a good way to deal with both. There's lots of projects online which use everyday items which won't cost you a penny, perhaps that's a good place to start.
It's what I did when I couldn't afford to buy the tricks I wanted and I've ended up inventing my own tricks too!
By the way John's prices are very good for his add-ons. buying something from an individual who makes their own items is different to buying things that are produced on a larger scale. John and I both design and make all of our own graphics and props and make them ourselves. It takes a lot of time to design well and even longer to hand-make good quality props. Don't underestimate the work that goes into them, a lot more care goes into them than does with a factory line! If you're not happy with the price of John's add-one that's fine but it's important to appreciate that they are fair

I'm sure they are. Six or seven dollars for an add-on doesn't sound like a lot. However, I'm not interested in add-ons. I'm only interested in the tricks themselves. As far as making tricks goes, I did make one trick that I learned online. It's called Spike on the internet; but since I don't know where I can get a spike, I just put a dollar bill under a Styrofoam cup that someone chooses, turn my back, have them mix the cups to their heart's content, turn back around, and lift up the cup that has the money. It's very easy to do, and it fools people.
