I see a Japanese seller selling Moons of Jupiter but calling it CD Player ? so my question is are Tenyo items commonly names different when sold in the west.

Normaly no, but it happens very rarely that a expensive trick is called differently !
And sometimes you are lucky to get a item cheaper through this bad labeling ...

They Japanese names are frequently different. For instance the Japanese version of Mira-Metal says "Money Drip" on it. Tenyoism lists the Japanese name for each trick as well.

Gaz is correct, there is a page on the website called Tenyo Magic Trick Name Translation Page

There you can see the Japanese Trick Names in Japanese Characters and in English. The Japanese Characters hyperlink back to that trick's page on Tenyo.co.jp where you can find a lot of information including "stories" and "tips."

Most of the Tenyo tricks are listed there but I have never been able to complete the page because I get an error when saving it. I think there are too many links on the page.

Moons of Jupiter is called CD Player in Japan.

For the most part the Japanese Names are more practical and descriptive and not as creative as the English names.

Antigravity Rock vs. Stone Floating in the Air
Enchanted Strings vs. String Trick
Merlin's Coffer vs. Ring Escape
The Pillars of Thor vs. Twin Stick
Crystal Cleaver vs. Ring Mystery
The Ninja Experiment vs. Wall of Mystery

Ist sehr schön für die Jackentasche.

Christian,

Welcome to the Forum.

This is an English speaking forum although I believe some of our members may speak your language.

Maybe try to Google Translate your posts like this:
This is one of my favorite tricks I've been doing for a very long time, which is well made and very entertaining to the audience. Beautiful colors and very well preserved for children and adults.

Is very nice for the jacket pocket.
Even thought it is usually not the best translation, most of us will be able to understand what you are trying to say.

John
