Hi fellow Tenyoites, I am very interested to know of any Tenyo props you may have repaired,i find this very interesting and John M has listed a few of the props he has managed to repair on his sister site. John could u post some of ur awesome photos of how you repaired your sidetrack and mirage and alpha tunnel with explanations,as I just love to read about the restoration of severed and broken props so to speak. gaz..

Hiya gaz. If you have any plastic that has cracked (my bare bones had a crack on the outer case) you can use something called Tensol (trade name. Dichloromethane if you're feeling posh)
It's like a plastic cement, you literally need a drop, and it runs into the crack and literally welds it together. Any small excess evaporates but you have to minimise it as you can end up welding fingerprints into the plastic.
What tricks have you got that ate broken?

I have a broken mirage which I actually took apart and for the life of me couldn't fix!, I also had dare I say it! a marvins magic zig zag card which I fixed successfully. I also stuck a bit of tough silver tape on a snapped up lancelot lol. interesting story with the bare bones!

I don't have mirage, but I've heard its a nightmare. You can get aluminium tape, essentially it's sticky backed tin foil, just slightly thicker. That's good for a botch job or two

I would like to see a photo of the 'guts' of Mirage if you wouldn't mind sending it. I have discussed the inner workings with John M., but have never seen them.

Dichloromethane is a common organic solvent. Be careful when using it because it is a known carcinogen.

By the way, after cutting it open, I was not able to figure anything out.

Also it was a brand new one that I cut open.

So if you have one that is a little worn but works well, be happy with that.

oohh yes please john that would be ace. put the pics in the FOR MEMB EYES ONLY segment, other tricks like sidetrack etc would be super to. I know you are a busy man though!

Yes, I am busy with my slot cars. I have totally broken away from the hold that Tenyo had on me and spend most of my time and money now on slot cars. In the past, boxes of tricks would arrive in the mail almost daily. Now it is cars, parts, paint, etc. I am having a ball. I will post some pictures once my track is done. It has been sitting un-finished for almost two years since I came down with Tenyoitis in January of 2012. You guys know I like to create things, well with the slot cars I work on about 10 projects at a time where with the magic it was only two or three at a time.

By the way, these slot cars are 1/32 scale Euro Slot Cars from companies in England (Scalextric), Germany (Carrera), Italy (NSR), Spain (Fly), etc. so many of you guys might be familiar with them.

john I used to have a big box of scalextric it was the ford cosworth pack, my bro and I used to have loadsa fun with it!. I have a dept store near by with lots of scalextric parts accessories etc upstairs, its called Trinder Bros its in Banbury you would love the upstairs of that shop john!

So under this section, I thought I would share my repair of rope of calcutta, the Base was snapped off and the plexi glass was warped and foggy. I cut a piece of plexi glass and painted it close to the color for the base and epoxy`d it. The plexiglass I cut then used my soldering iron to burn the holes then a drill to smooth them out. trying to upload pictures but it`s saying the file is too big.

Also waiting for this to come in. Heard it`s the best for fixing cracks

That's a good job, nice idea to use the soldering iron to burn the holes (careful of fumes though). In the future if you need a replacement I can laser cut you one.
