I'm not one to use Tenyo rip-offs, but I'm on a budget

Do the knock offs use the same size boxes? Or are they using the cheap In-and-Out boxes?

I own one Parabox rip-off and they are smaller. Also, the dimensions arouse suspicion, as in they are clearly rectangular boxes. Tenyo's boxes look more like cubes.

Well, there is nothing wrong with purchasing Tenyo knock offs, especially when you don't know what the effect is. I still have an Eye of the idol Made in China, I am convinced that I can mod that so that it works as good as the original one.

I agree. I did get my daughter the in and out boxes thinking that we could do Parabox.

But man, they flash so badly and they are tiny.

Performance wise, bigger boxes are better. And after watching some Tenyo Parabox routines, going off of what David said. They do indeed perform much cleaner because of how Tenyo built them.

The rip-offs are not always as bad. I have a Squeeze Play which actually works better than the original, because the round plates are more bendable...

I have recently bought the best Counterfeit Tenyo. It is a funny take on the Mirror Mate.

I usually do not support knock offs, but I just had to buy this for a friend (who finds things like that funny).

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you Mr. Poo Poo:

I bought it from this dealer at ebay for 8 dollars including shipping:

I like the idea of the counterfeit tenyo section. Just sayin.

Bill slasher reminds me more of Mathew Johnsons melt than knife of the ninja. I made my own knife of the ninja out of card stock and cut window flaps to view the bill instead of the tinted plastic. Its cheesy looking but it quenched my need for figuring out and seeing how the trick is executed. A simple palmed piece cleans it all up yes, easy.

I would like to get the fake that's like the Merlin's coffer but the auction is no longer up. Oh well, good info anyway.

I'd like to weigh in on this fake Tenyo discussion, so here goes. As long as there is a buck to be made on the cheap people will sell fake whatevers. Women by fake boobs, men buy fake women magicians buy fake tricks, but collector buy the real article and always will. We will save up our monies to buy the real Tenyo we need to complete whatever Tenyo series we are working on. Is it ethical to sell fake Tenyo items, no I don't think so, but it happens and is happening. Should we encourage it, well that an individual choice. That's my 2 cents that's worth about 1 cent in today economy, this sounded so good to me that now I think I should run for some office or run away. ENJOY.......

Regarding Knock off`s and counterfeit tenyo, While it`s frowned upon, I will admit I do own 2-3 Knockoff`s for the simple fact they are damn near impossible to find and at a good price. One example is the mystery triangle, which can be found on magic52.net. If I find an authorized tenyo for a good price, of course I would replace it. Others which are readily available and are in fact being copied are just garbage, so I guess what I`m saying if you wish to seek knockoff`s, make it worth it of something that is near impossible to find.

I'm afraid I'll have to ban you for this Jeff, sorry.

Just kidding of course 8-) This is a forum where you can talk freely and no need to bother about ethics (well, to a certain degree that is).

No need to apologize. Most knock offs are rubbish indeed. Does the Mystery Triangle you have work ok?

I know there is/was a Mystery Of The High Hat on that website which costs less than 10 bucks and it will work OK because the secret is hard to, well, not work OK 8-)

It's pretty simple to find Mystery Triangle at a good price.

David,
This is my old pic. I have to admit that I got the knock off before got the Tenyo version. Everything looks and works as the same as the original one. The purple color of the KO version is little bit darker than Tenyo and the KO version comes also in several colors. The quality of the plastic is not as good as Tenyo (of course). You can feel the difference if you have both in hands. KO version cost about 10 bucks or less.

I forgot if the Tenyo version has trademark on the prop or not, I need to check. If not, then we need to be careful, it`s quite difficult to differentiate if you have only one on hand.

Rip-offs are okay. How much is the rip-off for Card Surgery, and where do I get one?

No, illegal copies are not okay. It's called theft of Intellectual Property and is a crime.

Yes it`s alright, although I ordered 2 and I`m glad I did so I will have a back up. One of them the gimmick would not open because it was glued. Had to force it open and now it works fine

Well I found Card Surgery and 4-Dimensional Trunk for $23.70 each with shipping. I put them both in my shopping cart. How long will I have to pay for them?
God bless, Jason Irelan
