Eye of the Idol variation: Buma's Clairvoyant Scarab

Post by Rob Rand » Thu Jan 22, 2015 5:09 pm

Just for your information, here is an effect that is very similar to Eye of the Idol. It is a scarab that magically points a chosen object: Buma's Clairvoyant Scarab

https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=8 ... 1421828030

The catalogue of Stevens Magic evens mentions:
'Based off a little known technique previously featured years ago in a Tenyo effect.'

Only $ 97,50 :) So cheaper than the original Eye of the Idol nowadays!

Very nice effect, thanks for sharing Rob. A good alternative for EOTI for sure, although for some reason I don't like the use of the water, but that's my personal taste of course :)

I believe the water is not really necessary, especially when you use the original props, the perspex pyramid.

Nice version Rob. Thanks for sharing. Talking about EOTI effect and water. Just pop up in my mind the simple water compass. Would be great if we could make a similar effect out of this. It looks really impromptu. Maybe we need magnetic needle for this and special gimmick "remote" to control the move. I think that would be a great idea or could be a bad one :)
