In one of the videos both sides of each disc are shown before they are placed on the rod so I thought perhaps it used a different method.

Usually, the vanished box is produced after the vanish and the items removed from box. I did not see this in your video and I also noticed that the chest was close to the table end.

Yes I was lucky to get this from my friend Frans Reijnier by trading it with one of my tricks.

And oops... Usually I'm pretty keen on misspellings, but this time I really went wrong with naming this trick Sing See instead of Ching See.

It is a fair point Bob, and seems unfinished maybe? I guess a pure vanish is ok too, depends on the presentation.

I also disagree with this statement, we as magicians know in part what is going on,
but even with this knowledge I am totally surprised and thrilled by this effect !

The best tricks are the ones which always surprise me again ...

I think this is the only version with the sleeve rolled up. If you are be able to watch how Tommy prepared all the details, he was such a perfectionist and his work on the vanishing cage was truly a masterpiece. I think noone did better than him.
