Shigeru Sugawara

Post by JohnM » Tue Apr 22, 2014 2:28 am

Shigeru Sugawara is on the cover of the current issue of Genii Magazine with a feature article written by Max Maven. I will order this issue from Penguinmagic.com as he is one of my favorite Tenyo creators.

SEO Magic has a nice selection of Shigeru Sugawara magic.

Does anyone have these two tricks below that were created by Shigeru Sugawara after he retired from Tenyo They look really good.

Nice to see these Tenyo creator geniuses like Sugawara and Fiedler on the cover of Genii. I hope the upcoming Tenyo book will also feature profiles of other creators as well.

I never thought that the secret of ribbon and ring routine was that simple or I should say too simple. It fooled me badly. It was one of the best and trickiest solution that Sugawara came up with. Very beautiful routine indeed.

Ring penetration is amazing! The first trick is lovely too, more tenyo-y. I can work it out I think, the only thing is the name, eight penetration? Why not penetr8?

I own ring and ribbon and as Victor stated, the secret is simple perhaps but very good made, and the effect is very magical and incredible to spectators.

Can either one of these effects be examined? Ring & ribbon looks really good.
"let's continue on with this carnival-like atmosphere"

R&R is definitely not examinable.

By the way, that is Mr. Sugawara performing the Ring and Ribbon.

The Penetraeight cannot be examined as mentioned in this review on the SEO site.

The ring and ribbon trick is a very visual magic routine but I did not get this trick because I think that the method is exactly the very thing that the spectators suspects.

The Eight Penetration seems like an ingenious mechanical card that we Tenyo Collectors will like but will not be appreciated by laymen. The Cigarette Thru Card is a better effect because the card can be examined by the spectator.
