Five of Diamonds reveal for the UK

Post by SimonC » Fri Jun 12, 2015 6:41 am

Hello all :) As the dust settles in the workshop I can stop being such a hermit and come back to the real world. I was staring at a five pound note the other day and thought of a neat little impromptu trick you could do.
Place a fiver down on the table (ideally a bar ;)) and say
"I bet this note can name your card" As you say it be sure not to say "I can name your card" deliberately miss out the I. If you say it right it won't sound out of place. Force the 5 of diamonds on them and then triumphantly name the wrong card "TEN OF CLUBS!". As they go for the note say
"woah what are you doing?"
"you said you could name my card"
"I said I bet this note can name your card, not me. take a look"
turn the note over to reveal 5 of D in the folds.

It's just a silly little trick which came to me the other day but it'll do in a pinch ;)

cheers Jimmy, I'm sure it could be adapted for other countries notes too. thinking about it, I'd force the card first, then say "I bet etc etc.."

I would do this: Without saying anything, bring out the fiver and fold it in a nonchalant way. Then put it under a drink on the table (or bar). If you can borrow the banknote from the witness, even better. Then let some time pass.

Now pick up a deck and do a trick or two, then your third trick would be the force of the five of diamonds. After the card has been chosen, ask the witness to look under the glass or bottle. Ka-POW.
