Do you think Crazy Spots will get discontinued too and the price of that one will skyrocket? I'm not saying I'd sell it if it did because I only have one, and I like it.

Crazy Spot Story

I had one of the best Crazy Spots made called Color Changing Spots I think back in 1966. It was made of really nice wood and a very nice decorative thick brass hinge and very strong m....t. It worked so good I used it for years and years to the point the paint was coming off the movable spot on both sides so being a kid I figured this is no good anymore and sold it with a bunch of tricks. I was thinking I am getting to old for this stuff anymore. That was a huge mistake as I thought no problem I can go to the magic shop and get a brand new one again turns out they stopped making it!

So when I seen Tenyo version I thought good I can get another one. After having the wood one with the brass hinge and much stronger m.....t the Tenyo version with the cheap rubbery plastic piece believing it is sure to break that is suppose to be a hinge was such a let down I have hated it since day one. I hate the feel of the whole thing. I took it out of the package tried it 3 times in disgust and put it in the box never to see the light of day again. To make it with that flexible plastic strip to work as a hinge they made the whole thing out of that rubbery substance. If they would have put any kind of real hinge on it even if it was plastic and made the rest out of real plastic as their other stuff is it would have been light years better. I can't be the only one that thinks this.

Moral to the story is if you have something you really like never sell it as you will be sorry when you can't replace it again.

Now to answer your question I doubt Crazy Spots will ever skyrocket no matter what happens.

Tenyo already discontinued Crazy Spots. I doubt very much that it's price will ever skyrocket for two reasons. First, Tenyo made so many of them and they were available for many years. Decades actually. Second, it was a great seller in brick and mortar stores but probably not so much on line. I always liked that trick, still carry it around and perform it, and feel that it is underrated.

Before Tenyo released their version, there was a similar version made in Germany I believe called Spooky Spots. It was essentially the same exact thing but the shape of the two connected tablets were more rectangular and it was a different color.

If you really like it, you should get an extra. It's inexpensive and may come in handy if you lose that special something or split the hinge.
It's a Tenyo day in the neighborhood!

Jason

I agree with Steve if you really like it get a backup one just for the 2 reasons said.
Or look for a better made one by anyone else in wood with a real hinge.

If I can find one in wood with hinge like the one I had I would buy 4 of them.
I really liked it. :D

I wonder what the most expensive magic trick in the world is. I know David's flying illusion is pretty expensive. I wouldn't care to get it even if I did have the money because you'd have to rely on someone else to help you. Other big illusions he's done are like that.
