Demi Deck

Post by PeterW » Thu Dec 31, 2020 5:37 pm

Here’s a nice little illusion! Might be a little tough performing in a crowd, but great for on camera or a few spectators. Looks quite convincing!

Edit: I have been asked to remove the video link as this effect hasn’t been publicly released yet, sorry for any inconvenience. The effect should be released to the public soon!

The method seems obvious to me. I notice they only show the trick from the front....no side or back shots.
If it turns out that it can be performed surrounded, I may be interested.

It’s brilliant! I am baffled by it!
I hope it will come in production soon! I’ll be happy to purchase it...

Looks amazing, seems to be a prototype, currently have no explanation for what I see

If someone has an explanation I would like to read it in the secret area ...

Looks great indeed, I remember when Angelo first showed a prototype, many years ago. For now I'm also baffled! There have to be at least some angle restrictions but it does look VERY convincing :) The add says 'grab your favourite deck' and 'no switching of any kind' - Angelo even lets the female spectator examine the cards ... so can we conclude a full, normal deck is used? That would be quite amazing ... . It looks like a must-buy 8-)

I am definitely in on this one. I love everything Angelo comes up with. Hopefully soon...

This trick looks great! And you could make a funny little story around it (e. g. about an alternative way to cut a deck of cards ;) ). Despite being not that keen on buying magic tricks at the moment, this one looks like a must-buy for me

Wow- it is indeed really nice. I think indeed any deck may be used as I suspect the case does the work. Angelo is a genius! Maybe it is based on the t**t move with cards?

Well it took a bit more time :-)

It is out now. Demo/trailer:

Looks very good. But I wonder if the angles won't be an issue in real life. I suppose performing it surrounded isn't possible, which isn't a big deal imo.

For the first time I've actually fallen prey of the hype and ordered this trick. Angelo Carbone does have a proven track record as a magic creator, and even if it is pretty obvious what is generally going on (not the exact technical execution), I think this looks nice. And he does claim that the angles are much better than people might think. Surrounded is clearly a no-go, but it is claimed that towards the sides are ok with some care.

The video of the kid performing does contain a minor flash, and given that his father is who he is, they should have known better than to just publish that take.

Ha, after seeing the video of this effect on the YT channel of Dynamitemagic, I immediately ordered it there!

Will receive it tomorrow!

It really looks impossible…

I actually don’t buy any more tricks, but this is the legit exception!

I ordered from a UK shop, so I will probably not receive it until late next week. Will be interesting to hear your impressions of it, Rob.

Received it today...

It's very good. Handling is super easy, the quality is great, you get a video of about one hour with 3 presentation ideas and all the details explained by Angelo himself...

Also a demo by David Regal!

Yes, it's really Tenyo-like!

How difficult would you say it is to manage the angles?

I don't think a dark shirt helps that much. Here the box gimmick is flashed twice and yet he's wearing a black T-shirt.

Had not looked at this so closely but works just as I suspected from the beginning. Works of course
without black T-shirt and size hands but am still the opinion that a black T-shirt more camouflage
and greater scope for angles allows - Trick was not a surprise for me but will amaze some people.

Those flashes would most likely go by unnoticed with a live audience, who doesn't have the luxury of video.

I doubt it since there's not all that much to focus their attention on or be distracted/misdirected. The cards are where the cards will logically be and that's where their eyes go. But this is totally my opinion.
