This is called Tester by Cliff Lount the performer illustrates the hardness of a coin by dropping it on the table,he then brings out a pencil which is a medium lead pencil marked HB,performer brings out an unmarked pencil which is not marked.Performer now brings out a Tester a wooden slide inside of which is the printed report of the last pencil tested.Basically the HB pencil will not let the coin pass.and the report says medium hard, then you put the unmarked pencil in and the coin passes through, you turn over the test report and it says to soft. This trick is hard to explain,it could be used with a different story, the test report strip is just to show there is no room for the coin to go.A pencil, wand, crayon, rolled up note etc will go through the hole
