This is by John Derris,Performer shows a small mirror and a small envelope with a hole through it,the performer pierces the mirror with the pen through the hole in the envelope where it is seen emerging on the other side.To dispel the sceptics the performer opens up one side of the envelopewhere the spectator can now see the pen actually penetrating right through the centre of the mirror.But as a climax and in full view the performer grasps the mirror and pulls it right through the pen on to the spectators hand leaving the pen still passing through the envelope

That's a good use for it. When you move it around people tend to think mags. I think what you have there is a better effect.
