Post by Rob Rand » Thu Mar 17, 2016 6:45 am

Today 17 March 2016 the curtain has fallen for Paul Daniels.

A remorseful day for the magic community.

Rest In Peace Paul !

Just to remember him, Paul performed a beautiful piece of magic "Orange Tree" invented by Robert Houdin

This has all gone so very very quick ... only a few months ago he was still alive and kicking on his YouTube Channel ... and a bit longer ago he proudly presented everything he and Debbie did to protect their house against the flooding of the Thames. And now, he's gone ... .

An example of one of the best magicians ever, with great tricks and always those funny and entertaining routines, which made the most ordinary trick into something special. That's what magic is about.

Rest in piece Paul, you'll be missed ... a lot.

What a great find Victor, thanks! Here he is doing Tenyo's Parabox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl74z0HTffM

For those interested, here's his YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/thepauldaniels/videos. Possibly this will be closed soon ... so enjoy his chats and advice while you can.

I'm toasting the great man this evening. Taking two of my old packet tricks to the pub for a practice :)
Say yes Paul. Yes Paul.

Sad news indeed to hear of his passing. I love the great parlor magic he performed. I love the larger size of the Dragon Alter used in this performance. Does any know if this effect was ever available in this size for purchases?

Well, if you act now. Go to sites that can convert YouTube videos to MP4. I'll post a site later, but at least that way, you can HAVE the video

Oh no so sorry to hear this. He was one of my favorites. He had many things happen to him in the last few years it was like a snowball effect for him. One of the best and funny performers ever will be missed. :(

Very clever to make a stage version of Dragon's Altar.

Thanks to all of your comments, I started watching the Paul Daniels Magic shows on YouTube.

What an amazing Magician. His style is fun, entertaining, and meticulously presented.

For those interested, Louis Theroux met Paul and Debbie in 2001. You can watch this episode for free here.
