Fidget Spinners

Post by Richard W » Mon Aug 14, 2017 1:30 am

I thought it better to make new topic here about these.

Rob I see you say you love fidget spinners. I was wanting to get a few of the best spinners that spin the longest and are near silent when spinning. Wondering which ones are your favorites. That card reveal one sounds very cool. :)

Interested to hear if others have these too and which ones to get and which ones to stay away from. I thought since all they do is spin any of them would be ok but reading some reviews some are really bad and some are very good.

One I seen had good reviews is this one. The youtube video shows it spun just to 9 mins on a table spin.

Says it is copper but would believe that when I see it in hand. :?

I've seen many students 'use' them ... looks cool ... but that's about it for me :D

I'm the same as David, I think they're really cool and satisfying to use (the mystic Ruby has one that I must admit and do borrow). The problem for me is that trying to teach a class of 30 kids who are all spinning one at the same time is a bloody nightmare! They also rap them on the table to slow them down which is maddening.
They were originally supposed to be to help students concentrate but that is absolute bollocks I'm afraid! They're a toy like any other (yoyo, rubies cube etc) and are lots of fun, it's just not appropriiate for kids to play with them in a lesson, they get too distracted learning and comparing tricks with each other (I known would have been the same at school too!)
Now you see me...

I think if spinners are a problem in a class room they should be confiscated, maybe given back at the end of class but only one time. The next time they should loose it.

I'm sure both of you have seen so many you are sick of them.

In my case I have never seen one except on recent video.

I am interested to see if the one they say is copper is really copper. If so I like to try a neodymium magnet to create eddy currents see if it effects it in anyway. Not spinning nothing happens but spinning it should slow it down or even repellent away from it. It would be more obvious with it balanced spinning on a pen point. But it has to be real copper I doubt it is for the cheap price of $12.99 But it was originally $28.00 so maybe some cheap form of waste copper. Alluminum will work too but not as strong as copper would be.

Still looking for the best reasonably priced one to be had so if anyone has one that to proven to be really good let me know your thoughts about it and where to find it.

Richard, my favorite and affordable spinner is the Zentri spinner, for sale at fidgethq. Small, heavy, long and silent spin.

I have this one:

I placed an order for the Zentri Stainless and a Brass one too. Ordered 2 of the new High Velocity Bearings Bearing removal tool. I wanted to get the Kong upgrade buttons but they are out of stock. :)

Thanks for the help these sound great.

These are the ones I have bought so far. All are good quality.

This is the first one I got. A bit expensive but very nice.

I got these all with the ceramic bearings. $12.50 each. Really good quality 3D printing. Other items in the store are cool too.

These I got on Ebay. My favorite was the LED with the Bluetooth Speaker. Only $3.99 w. Free shipping. I ordered 10 more of these to give out. The pen spinner is very nice too, anodized aluminum. The zodiac one is the only one I would not re-buy.

Get one of two of these two. Great fidgets. I got the translucent yellow, really cool and a black one too.
