Lego NES
Lego NES
For anyone who is a fan of the original Nintendo Entertainment System or Lego, this is pretty cool:

There is a small crank on the side of the TV which creates the illusion of Mario running and jumping just like the game.
Looks like it is being released in August.

Re: Lego NES
That looks like a fun build. I might have to get that.
I just started getting into Lego since watching the Lego Masters TV show and being home in quarantine. I bought the Yellow Submarine, Steamboat Willie, Boba Fett and 1989 Batmobile. I built the first two so far.
I know John and Rob have always been into Lego. Now I get it more.

Re: Lego NES
What a great collaboration !
Re: Lego NES
I bought this, it went on sale today.
Re: Lego NES
Thanks for the heads-up John, I need to order one.
Re: Lego NES
It is already sold out on the Lego site and my local lego store. Also sold out is the just released Grand Piano. I think there will be more available because they are not even being sold in non-Lego stores yet.
Check out this Grand Piano. Truly amazing how far Lego has come. This set was proposed by a lego hobbyist on the Lego Ideas site. I seem to gravitate to the Lego Ideas sets.

Wow! That piano is incredible. I missed out on the Lego NES, it says temporarily sold out.
I also like the ideas series and have a few of those.

Wow that is amazing. For someone that plays a piano they would love one of these.
This too is interesting to watch.
Amazing real-size LEGO Technic version of the Bugatti Chiron.

"let's continue on with this carnival-like atmosphere"

I got mine today.
Lego is truly much different than the square/rectangle red and white blocks when I was a kid. You had a few slanted pieces, doorways, windows, and base plates, but that was about it.
The only issue I have with Lego is that it is so darn expensive.
The Nintendo set was $229 and the Grand Piano is $349 because it has electronics.
That 1:1 LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is outrageous.

Re: Lego NES
I have also been bitten by the Lego virus during lockdown in march. I played with Lego untill I was about 21 years old and had a serious amount of bricks, motors, railway- en monorail sets etc. I ended up GIVING it away to my neighbours If I still had everything it would be worth several thousands of EURO
Anyway, I scored a nice bunch of old Lego-parts in a second hand shop and could not help myself to buy sets afterwards. I really like the Creator Expert series and have bought the big Rollercoaster, Haunted House with freefall tower, Assembly Square and a few others. I still need to buy some motors with Power-Up function to make my themepark rides electronic
I also try to buy old sets which I had but it's crazy how much they sell for I have only bought the Yellow Castle for now because it was one of the first sets I ever got. Good memories ... .
Budget for magic thesedays is therefore close to zero
Luckaly 4-year old Benjamin is also interested so I bought a few sets for him too.
LEGO IS FUN!!!

Re: Lego NES
I've spent almost no money on magic during this lockdown, but instead bought many other things. Regarding Lego, there are a bunch of fantastic sets out now. I plan to buy the Lego NES, the new Pirates ideas set (Pirates of Barracuda Bay) and have my eye on the new Lamborghini. The piano is really cool, but I may pass on that one.
Re: Lego NES
This is a good one coming on Sept 1st on the Lego site.

Nice theme, good price and it is an animatronic. I believe it is already in stores.
