I posted this is the buy and sell section--COMPLETELY forgot the forum had a 'contest' section

Tenyo & MB Magic Works Box Contest

Postby Brett H » Fri Sep 26, 2014 5:23 pm
It's apparent to me that some of you collect the Tenyo boxes. Well, you lucky ducks are in luck!

I have the box for Tenyo Clean Cut and Milton Bradley's: Magic Works Eye of the Pharaoh up for...well, the cost of postage.

But here's the thing, I don't want to just give them to whoever posts here first. That's boring.

Let's make it into a friendly contest for you box art collectors!

It's no secret that my daughter wants to be a magician! We had a good sit down last night and went over the tricks she wants to save her money up for (and possibly get for Christmas).
Lo and behold. Some of the Milton Bradley's Magic Works tricks made their way into the list.
So here's the contest entry (assuming more than one person wants the box or boxes):

Take up to 5 guesses of the 3 tricks that have made it onto her list.

- The tricks from Magic Works are ONLY from Series 1-4
- The mail-in packet tricks and the electronic tricks are NOT on her list
- We own Eye of the Pharaoh
- I think I've mentioned that she wanted Coin in the Crypt at one point. Just so no one gets any ideas and starts looking over my past posts; Coin in the Crypt also cannot be one to guess on.

Whoever (assuming more than one person wants a box or boxes) guesses most most on my daughters list--or all 3 gets the box of their choosing (for the cost of postage, which I'll invoice for and be in contact with you)

The deadline is September 28 11:59 PM, my time in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Any questions, ask away!

Happy guessing

Oh no, David's member name mixing disorder is spreading. Is this just a coincidence or is there a new Tenyo disease outbreak? :?

No you have a mistake Bill!

Congratulations! We have a three-tie.

I’m really at a loss for words.

First of all, thanks for playing, it was fun seeing the responses!

Everyone guessed Mysterious Queen. Everyone. I can see where everyone was going with it, but the daughter didn’t even blink at Mysterious Queen. Surprised the heck out of me.

So what ACTUALLY did make it out of the responses?

Invisible Hook and Ghost Deck.

The sit-down with my daughter revealed she likes mental magic and sucker tricks.

Also funny, she wants Magical Security because she gets to show that ‘she’s the magician and can pull the card from the magic green pocket.’
Her words. It’s her second favorite (her first being Magic Butterfly. No surprise for me there).

So what do we do now?

Well, there’s still that 3rd trick still waiting to be guessed.

The best I can think of is that we’ll try this again. Everyone has 24 hours to guess 5 Milton Bradley tricks.

First person to correctly predict the last trick picks the box of their choice. If there’s a second, they get the other box.

The next time I get more Tenyo and do this again, I know how I would do this better. But man. Three way tie? That's nuts

That was my first trick as well. Kind of afraid of giving the daughter one of her own because, when I got it, every other trick after that wasn't able to compare (namely: clean cut, dark dagger, mystery dice, and mystery of a dark stranger)

good shout. my advice is pretend like you're trying really hard to find one but you can't quite and the others will keep her going. you're right, nothing will be quite the same after she discovers the secret :)

Fortunately she's not into Crystal Cleaver...yet.

She just got a disney set of dynamic coins that she's been saving up for a month. It's the 30th anniversary Disneyland Tokyo version and it doesn't hold a quarter. Best we can do is a nickel. So she's having fun making the coins disappear, but is having a hard time wrapping her head around the gimmick and how the trick is actually supposed to play out

She can handle it, but the trick is a bit uphill learning curve with challenges I didn't expect.

It's a fun learning experience
