Hi Everyone -
I am not a magician, but an enthusiast. I like to be baffled by them. I enjoy close-up routines, card tricks and card flourishes such as Lennart Green's Top Shot, as well as stage acts. I try to figure out how they did it.
Woodworking is one of my hobbies, so I like to make small-to-medium-sized props for my magician friends (I belong to the local Houdini Club). I made Winston Freer's Tile Puzzle and Zanadu's Swords through the Half. (I just began this new hobby recently.) On my to do list are Tenyo's Ultra Tube, Jimmy King's Block Box and Magic Wagon's Quantum Tunnel. If I can figure out how LintenKabinet is done, I'll build it!
My favorite magicians are Houdini (a fellow Badger from Appleton, Wisconsin, of course!), Channing Pollock and Cardini. When I'm in Las Vegas, I like to attend one of the shows there.
Regards,
Bob

Bob, welcome to this forum!
And great that we have another maker of tricks!
Hmmm... So nice to hear that you mention Lintenkabinet! I don't want to boast, but I, owner of the original Lintenkabinet, made this amazing prop very popular
Many version are made, 3DMagicWorks Seren-snip-ity, Magic Wagon The Dragon Chambre, Ltd Exition Magic a great restyled wooden version, and last but not least, my Lego creations, especially the Mondriaan Ribbon Box
Enjoy this forum!

Welcome
Great to hear you make props out of wood. I would be happy to have a Winston Freer's Tile Puzzle made of wood in a frame like the original. This forum is filled with talented people you will fit right in.

Re: Hello from Milwaukee
The major reason I started doing this is that after years of building furniture, bookcases, a poker table and chairs, etc., I had loads of walnut, cherry, oak and maple scraps. I wanted to make something out of these. Then, a few months ago, I ran into a magician friend and came up with the idea to make tricks for him.
I posted a photo of the Winston Freer puzzle on the green forum; I use the same name there as here. I don't think it is appropriate to post photos of non-Tenyo items here.
