Hello from Germany

Post by Olaf S » Sun Sep 09, 2018 5:15 am

Hello, my Name is Olaf and I am from the high north of Germany.
My first contact with Magic was at the age of 8 in a skiing holiday with my parents in Austria.
The hotel owner was a member of a magical circle and knocked a coin through the table in front of my eyes, which surprised and fascinated me extremely. Later, when I was older, I came into contact with magic again through the small stop cube made of brass, which I still love very much.

Then I became seriously interested in magic and bought some tricks in the magic shop Bartels in Hamburg and was very fascinated by Siegfried & Roy. I then also acquired larger and professional illusions and had read many magic books at that time. After that there was a big break with other hobbies until my love for magic tricks caught up with me again and I started to collect Tenyo tricks, some of which were still reasonably affordable.

I had owned some rare pearls of them before, but at considerably more moderate prices.
In the last years I have completed my collection with other very clever and beautiful magic tricks. The newest focus at the moment is on some successful Magic Wagon magic tricks, unfortunately a very costly pleasure. I only practice this magic passion privately and enjoy some very clever ideas or successful done craftsmanship. As a former furniture carpenter I am accustomed to precision and an impeccable workmanship, therefore my love for magic tricks made of beautiful wood.

However, this often burdens the wallet until it is near to vanish,
fortunately I have an understanding female life partner.

Olaf, welcome to this forum, you will find, or let me say already found useful information about not only Tenyo, but also other tricks.
I'm a lover of wooden tricks too, Viking, Magic Wagon etc.
Good luck with your search for some holy grails :)

Welcome to the forum! Nice to see that you finally posted in this section (two years after registering...), and with your current post count you qualify to become a full member here. Trust me, you will spend a lot of time catching up on all the interesting threads that you will then be able to see. :-)

Good luck in getting your hands on Magic Wagon tricks, they tend to be very expensive if owners choose to part with them. As you know perfectly well.

Sometimes it takes a little longer for magic to happen ;-)
I've been busy with my second passion for a long time
Analog filming with old cameras and real film ...

I'd rather not communicate the expenses, then I probably wouldn't reap so much tolerance
from her. Only with particularly beautiful looking tricks I dare that, then she has a little
more understanding, since beauty always calms women a little bit.
