I have to admit that my fascination for magical stuff is strongly biased towards collecting the props - I only very occasionally present for family and/or friends. But I am working on it
.My "career" as a collector started back then in Hamburg when I bought some tricks from Zauber Bartl. I still have Tenyo's “What's Next?” and “Glass Board” from that time. After a “short” break of about 45 years I became (re-)infected by the Tenyo virus (I guess it was caused by watching Magic Patagonia's presentation of “Bare Bones” on YouTube...but I won’t blame him for that
) and I started hunting for all those precious little plastic treasures like (of course) "Bare Bones", “Prison Box”, “Ninja Experiment”, “Eye of the Idol”, “Ultra Tube” and so on. After being kind of saturated with my Tenyo collection, my taste changed to the more “serious” stuff: I started collecting some rarities from the good old Zauber Butike times like “Pikolinus”, “Tseng Tjeng” (I love watching the presentations of these and other tricks by Eckhard Böttcher in the “Magisches Intermezzo”), older and newer props from Thomas Pohle and so on. Then I discovered Kent Bergmann's wonderful and very solidly made 3D-printed products like from the "Dragon Trilogy", “The Color of Mummy”, “First Class” and “Set in Stone”. Then I came across the beautifully crafted magic items from Francois Danis and couldn’t withstand adding a copy of the famous “Wandering Mummy” trick to my bunch of magic props. And very recently, I (of course) casted also an eye on Magic Wagon’s fascinating range of products… So, I am afraid my hobby might get a little more expensive in the future .
