This thread is a perfect example of why this is such a special forum. there have been so many great ideas for this effect already and from lots of different angles. imagine you collected and performed Tenyo and just discovered this place, it would be like a treasure trove!
It's been a real pleasure getting to know everyone here and I'm excited about all the great ideas we have. it would be great to eventually have one big FSO meet-up somewhere. from the looks of John's new show he's involved with he's working on the technology to get us all into a big online video chat, perhaps we could all be in our favourite pub when we do :)

The idea with broken compass is excellent Simon. It opens now the intro for the vile vortices. Wow...you starts slowly to make new the National Treasure movie. That's great! :)

That's a brilliant routine and a take on the box. Especially using the map as a cover for the move.

Beautifully done box, by the way.

Idea! You need two of the same butterfly/object to do this.

Card case. Make one butterfly disappear, and have it reappear in the butterfly box

Simon,

Your version of "Butterfly" is just too cool for school.

It is very lovely as is, but could also be used as a utility device which could have indefinite possibilities.

Thanks for thinking thoughts about thinking ...
and now, on with the show ...

hah, cheers Bob :) yes it certainly could be used for other ideas.
I did away with the pin as on my magic butterfly the platform can 'teeter' on the way down which makes it take a fraction too long sometimes. with the map corner, I folded it so that when it appears it is standing up rather than laying flat so it appears to be taking up more space in the box. just a little thing but it has a small psychological impact.

@ Brett:
I`m not sure if you have read this thread, if you love magician`s choice, there was small project that I shared which you can try here :
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=738#p7063
Just follow the thread if you want to read the explanationand how to make.

If you love multiple outs, there was also another small project to try ;) This one is little bit complicated to make :
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=727#p6890

but this one is easier to make:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=727#p6986

Have fun !

i have an idea. Mystery Poodle.

You could utilize the 'barking' gimmick and do a routine trying to figure out where the barking is coming from. And produce the pink poodle in the end

Maybe even utilize the Mr. Rabbit + Parabox routine and produce rabbits; acting surprised and exclaiming that they don't bark.

Trying to figure out other Tenyo in which you could produce tiny animals. Trap Box? Phantoma?

Has anyone made the voodoo doll version as shown by Tenyo? I actually like that better than the butterflies but do like the cards and butterflies provided too.

This is one of my favorite Tenyo releases from recent years.
It's a Tenyo day in the neighborhood!

Hi everyone,

I made variations of routine for Tenyo Magic Butterfly and I devided in 2 parts of stories. The first one was pure using Tenyo Magic Butterfly but I made my own gaffs and continue with the secord part by using the same butterfly combining it with Tenyo Black Hole and Butterfly In Jar. Music was played by a good friend and Tenyo collector too, Mr. Tan Tze Ing from Singapore Hope you enjoy the routines :)

The graphics you use are wonderful! The whole routine is so poetic!

And the original Black Hole is hardly recognizable 😄

Just wondering... Is that a real butterfly, or a mechanical one???

Thank you Rob :) I am very glad that you enjoy it.

The Black Hole itself is really Tenyo Black Hole, but I made extra sleeve with tree design. I made my own gaff butterfly cards but to be honest there was sleights involved in the routine ;) The sleights are required in order to get double transformation with the Black Hole. First ,the Pupa changed become a butterfly and second the butterfly disappeared.

The butterfly in the jar was not a real one, I cannot make a real butterfly sleep...hah. I found the similar mechanical blue one close to the butterfly I have in the Magic Butterfly set. I bought it long time years ago but it was not Tenyo production. However I never see how good Tenyo version is but it works and looks very similar and mine works perfect, although made in China. It is very nice to see how the butterfly moves and it looks real. There is spoiler in the youtube if you want to know how it works ;)
