Alternate routine performed by our very own John B. using a silk rather than piece of paper.

I remember when I first got Mystery Triangle, it was astonishing to see how it worked. Excellent trick!

My very first Mystery Triangle was a Chinese knockoff. It has no instructions and it took me a week to figure out how it works.

This may be old news to some of you but I've just been playing around with Mystery Triangle and found that if I use one of the thin silks from silk serenade (or any thin silk) I can show my MT with the gimmick disengaged and right up to the point of the penetration. The blue worked best for me as the plastic has the same tint. As you put the silk over the triangle the magic happens naturally and you're good to go. The beauty of this trick is that as you pull the silk through, it cleans itself up immediately ready for immediate inspection (after a quick click)

I don't own this trick but I was under the impression that it was "just another card frame" that I've seen a million times before. Is there something special about the mechanism in this one?

it's very sneaky and it locks. it's pretty examinable, the sort of trick that if you bought it without the instructions you'd end up resting your coffee on what you assumed to be a rather fetching, if unnecessarily futuristic coaster ;)
snap one up if you can find one (say it's a carbon monoxide monitor for the baby's room)

You will notice from the pictures there is no plastic "circle" for a hole to hide behind. Those who have seen a card frame will be puzzled by that. Also there is no "forceful insertion" of a card necessary to release the gimmick. This action always bothered me when seeing the card frame performed.
