Magic Wagon: The Pharaoh's Curse

Post by John B. » Sun Jan 25, 2015 7:56 am

The new effect by Magic Wagon is available- a cut and restored mummy.

If it looks good, I usually order right away, but I am on the fence with this one. The ad does not indicate that anything is examinable, and should be performed a few feet away due to the method used.

Is anyone here purchasing it?

"Due to the method used, this effect is best performed a few feet away from the audience."
That's a big no from me!
Now you see me...

I will not buy it - the method seems a bit obvious to me. Big chest, big lid and a small, flat pharaoh ... . Nothing can be examined, must be performed as parlor trick.
This will be perfect for some people, but not for me I'm afraid. I need to make choices budgetwise every month, if not I would have bought it anyway because I'm sure it will work smoothly and look classy as always :)
Like Rob said on TMC it is something 'special': no mentalism, no dice, so that's good of course.

I also ordered it. The selling point for me was when I read "involves a nice mechanical method".

Today I received Pharaoh's Curse, and I'm not disappointed!
The method was exactly how I figured it out, but the gimmick works so smooth and flawless and silent, that it is a joy to perform!

Pete, I always receive an email from Magic Wagon directly, when they have a new item. This email was on Sunday. So I ordered it immediately. This one was sold out within a day.
You should subscribe on the mailing list of Magic Wagon, then you never miss an item! :-)

Pete, if you want one and are prepaired to pay a few £ more there will be opportunities in the future, like Seomagic, Stevensmagic, Tony Curtis, and a few others :) Or wait untill someone doesn't like it and sells it second hand.
Looks to be a great item, more clever then I thought initially ;)

Rob- your photo looks nicer than the MW one. It seems the original photos did not do the prop justice.

I wonder why they choose a black pharaon figure in a black background....no contrast.....hard to see the space within the 2 cutted pieces.....is there a reason for that Rob? or it can be done with a red figure for example?........(I also ordered but still don't receive it :( )

Roberto, the black pharaoh, made from plexiglass with a beautiful golden picture on it, wonders me too. It should be nicer when it had a contrasting color.
I believe they used the dark pharao to prevent 'flashing'.
You could replace it, but then you should make it yourself, or find an item that exactly fits.
I don't want to say anymore to hide the secret :)
