Reverso O Boxes

Three stunningly, beautiful boxes which allow the performer
myriad effects, limited only by your imagination.

Reverse O Boxes has been inspired and uses a devilishly, deceptive
principle, from the legendary, magician, Robert Harbin.

These boxes will open up a journey of magical discovery for the
performer or can grace the cabinet of any magical collector.

Beautifully crafted in veneer wood with a stunning
high gloss finish and rich suede interiors.

Included in the instructions are some great routines and
ideas by Steve Cook using the Reverse O Boxes.

OK these boxes drive me crazy. First I didn't want them because already spent so much on Perplexing Bolt, then they were all reserved, and now I ended up in Tony's Waiting list.

So yes, I want them. And only the ones who possess The Magic of Robert Harbin know how it works, they are even allowed to build them themselves.

Therefore a brutal question: anybody here who owns the book The Magic of Robert Harbin, and can tell me something about these boxes, not exposing but maybe a hint? Or just saying Yes I have the book and haha I won't tell you anything:)

EDIT: all the time I thought this effect was inspired by Robert Harbin's My Lady's Ring, but I was wrong, it's Card to bottle, described in Harbincadabra...

I share your thoughts, and the boxes look very nice, but as usual the images are tiny, which is annoying. I am also not sure about which effects can be achieved with this. One possibility is briefly described in the ad, but it is also stated that there are many.

In the end, this is too expensive for me (as was the Perplexing Bolt), not in the sense that I can't raise the money, I just feel it's too much.

The book isn't available (was only printed in 500 copies as far as I could tell), so learning more about this seems difficult.

I managed to order this one as well as finding a Perplexing Bolt, good old Tony Curtis ;)
The smaller the better for me as that's what draws me to Magic Wagon.
They only made 50 sets of Reverse O Boxes so its going to be hard to find a set if you missed out.

I first was not so on fire with these boxes because there are so much box tricks produced and i was a bit tired of all these boxes which i also find extrem expensive but after a while and some researches i get realy on fire with this box-set, unfortunately it was then too late and all sets were already reserved. I wish all those who were lucky enough to belong to the 50 lucky ones a lot of joy with it. At Magic Wagon you always have to make a quick decision and you also have to be liquid with the corresponding coins.

To my amazement I received yesterday a mail from Tony with a pay link to order a copy of Reverse O Boxes. Needless to say that I considered this as my lucky day!

So I was glad that I put myself on the waiting list, I was probably one of the first.

Got a track and trace link today, so now I'm really happy that I could get a copy!

Great news Rob. I think this one is going to be in the top 3 of all time.

I am with you Simon, I think this will really be great. I bought a set- but am a super fan of boxes, so it was a no brainer for me!

I was on the waiting list and I'm happy I managed to get one too. I think a few remain, so if interested I wouldn't hesitate too long.

I received my copy of Reverse O Boxes today. They are fantastically made. A lot of items are enclosed, so you can start right away!

But don't expect a complicated mechanism.

That said, with a great routine, as described very detailed in the manual, it will be a joy to perform!

Concerning that, the routine of John Talbot is really clever, now that I know how the boxes work :)

Yesterday, Olaf S published a nice video featuring these boxes:

It would seem that either these boxes has an additional feature that I am not aware of, or Olaf S made something extra himself, but no matter what, a very nice performance!

This performance by Olaf remains a bit strange to me. Why does he show the outer box empty, but never shows the inside box? As an 'innocent' spectator I think the following : from the beginning there are 2 bottles in the smaller box, plus a little drawer. He removes the first bottle and the drawer. He removes the 3 items from the bottle and puts them in the drawer. He puts the empty bottle back in the smaller box. He closes the box and places it in the outer box.
He then shows the drawer empty and takes the second bottle out the smaller box, filled with the three items.

For me, layman, the other bottle is still inside the smaller box.

If there had been two bottles in the inner Box - I would have had to put the empty bottle on top of the filled one, but that would have made a noise ... If you take a closer look you can also see that I placed the empty bottle very low down. In addition, I moved the Box very quickly afterwards, which would have made noises in any case. In addition, I would have to take out the filled bottle under the empty one, which would not happen inconspicuously and would also make noises.

OK that's clear Olaf... Yet I believe it's more convincing if at the end you show both nested boxes open...

In the given routines the boxes are usually not shown openly, only possible with a certain procedure and this limits the possibilities of these beautiful boxes from my point of view very much. I find it much more suspicious if one box disappears behind another one ...

First I'm copy pasting my review from the cafe.

I got my Reverse-O-Boxes last week ... . I managed to get them out of the packaging after a few hours ( :D ) but did not have time to 'play' with them. I can not believe these don't get more attention or reviews ... .
They are absolutely gorgeous ... these are actual jewelry boxes; think Diceolation but smaller, with a lid, and a key to close. No diabolical gimmickery, but that is not needed. All the stuff you get with your order (bottles that match perfectly, a very special gimmick to force a card, nuts and bolts, etc) ... I applaud Tony Curtis and the other developers. No need to buy extra stuff - all is included, as is an extensive manual and a link to a secret website for future routines.

John Talbot's routine with the cards or figurines is superb by the way. Can't wait for it to show my little boy when ge gets older with little figurines in stead of cards. Ah well, you can always rely on John Talbot (or Simon Corneille, Rob Rand's, or some other members for that matter) to elevate a Magic Wagon effect to something you will actually use - but this time no regrets for me :P Smile

One thing I can say is that while this is a trick every collector needs, and it is practically self-working, you will need a GOOD, SOLID routine with some misdirection. But that makes this one so much fun!

The possibilities are endless. I love them and I will post a 'serious' review when I had some time to play and perform with them.

Anyway, SUPERB job by Tony, Steve, John and Magic Wagon, and of course Mr. Robert Hardin, who gave our magic community this very, very clever secret ... .

All I can say guys, this is a work of art. And we have some of the best magic inventors in our forum, and I am sure they will realize what is going on and figure it out. And while that is true, trust me, the muggles will not figure it out with a good routine. This trick NEEDS story telling, misdirection, ... . This is NOT a trick you perform as a puzzle. It is absolutely NOT hard to do. It just needs some extra magic (routine, story ...).

I also wonder why this extraordinary made three box set receives so little feedback
Besides, there seems to be fast back returns, what I can't understand in no way
Thank you very much for your appreciative remarks and your enthusiasm ...
