Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
Oh my! I have such a soft spot for ring on rod effects!
Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
Do i read right, front door remains closed when the ring is lifted out on top ?

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
This is a very interesting effect (I didn't buy The Enchanted Rings). The rod (or sword) is a lot higher in the box which makes it look a lot more convincing.
I also appreciate the fact the box can be shown from all sides.
The front panel is, in my opinion, a bit dull, but some people might like that. And you can always improve the looks with stickers, jewels, ... - take a look at what John Talbot did with the Houdini Block: https://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/vie ... 8&start=20
For now, I'm looking forward to see a demonstration video

I suppose you can take away the front panel (doors) before the ring is lifted up? If not, I don't think that's a problem ... .

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
A borrowed ring can be used, which means the ring we see on the floor is the same that the one we see a moment later on the sword. So I guess what matters here is that there is no duplicate ring still laying on the floor after the penetration took place.David DeTenyo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 9:31 amI suppose you can take away the front panel (doors) before the ring is lifted up? Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
I like this version more than the very bulky Louie Gaynor “Ring on rod penetration”, which I sold by the way...
And the handling will be much easier I think...

Yes, there will be a lift mechanism involved. The Louie Gaynor version worked pretty unhandy.Simon Corneille wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 3:22 pmRob, do you think the modus operandi will be somewhat similar?
I think with this item it will work supersmooth...
I’m in for this one

Yes, this is the one. I’m actually glad I was able to get rid of it. Too large, an enormous ring, very awkward handling.

What about laser cutting (metal overlay) or engraving (directly on teak)?David DeTenyo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 9:31 amThe front panel is, in my opinion, a bit dull, but some people might like that. A jewel is an excellent idea...
Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
My first impression was not as enthusiastic as it seems other Magic Wagon lovers are ?
But the curiosity for how it works is there. My aesthetic sensibility for the design is not
served, so i am still undecided - The trick preformance itself i find appealing and good

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
Overall it looks very nice, although the handle seems a bit big. That a borrowed ring can be used is a good feature.

Yes! My order is placed
Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
I have a similar one and have to agree about the awkward handling. It's a nice dust collector.

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
Collin I do not know how it works and what is the awkward part but it looks nice to me
Meridian Ring Cabinet on the other hand seems to have also a weak point in looking inside
As far as I see it so far, the spectator must therefore not be placed too close or high seated

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
And I received my copy today
Well the video of Madison is very accurate.
He hides some possible sounds with music though...
Although a slower presentation can diminish the sound issues...
It’s a very clean effect. No hidden parts outside!
So if performed slowly, there is hardly a sound issue.
Very nice prop! Well made. I like it!

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
Rob, that's what i like about your videos, they are unmasked and real
I hope - that a more slowly and softer handling does not require music
I am in any case pleased - that the trick looks better than on mini photo
Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
Nice video Rob, smooth presentation! I did not buy this one this time, so it is nice to see the close-up of the cabinet in your video. The woodworking is indeed very nice.
Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
I notice it has the same noise issues as the ring box I have.

Re: Magic Wagon - Meridian Ring Cabinet
It's the sound of the ring flying through the air and hitting the sword
I recorded my video in silence, which is pretty rare. Usually you tell a story, specs are moving in their chair or drink a beer...
But the sound is in my opinion not really disturbing.
IT'S AT LEAST NOT THE SOUND OF A GARBAGE TRUCK!
So no need for you to order this one!
Can you tell us who is the manufacturer of your version?
