Thanks a lot for the info Rob!

And yes, it was fun to make a video and more will follow, thanks for all the positive comments! :) My next video will probably be a routine with two Magic Wagon tricks which involve dice, so not hard to figure out what it will be if you look at the tricks in my collection I suppose :)

I wonder if the plate comes up on a spring pivot so it rocks in all directions :D or even the 4 corners

my guess is there's a hole in the bottom you poke your finger in.

There is not one hole in the bottom but five... to let the spikes go through. You can freely show the bottom...

But it remains necessary to use finger work in the bottom to let the magic happen.

I thought maybe you'd need to lick your finger first whilst the spectator was distracted so you could put the finger in the hole in the bottom quickly without them noticing.

So any way that's the distraction, how does the trick itself work?
Now you see me...

No distraction needed Simon, you must hold the box so that you can touch the bottom unnoticed.

The mechanism is a little disappointing, but I like it. The brass plate is nicely decorated and the whole thing is not too big. The box is nicely done as well.

Wow, that is the first time ever that a trick has been still available after a week.

I have noticed that lately it has been taken longer to sell out.

I think when they get to the second day, they start offering special deals to dealers so they get the appearance of another sell-out.

The KT auction item is the Leon Improved Glass Penetration. At one time I had the exact item. There is also a ribbon that runs through the cabinet (front to back). A hook is used to pull the ribbon. I recall that not all rods can be inserted at the same time. Even in the photo, there are 4 holes in the top, but no rods inserted. Merv Taylor produced this item. This is the common size version. However, a very few were made with a much larger box (very hard to find that version). It looks nice and is easy to work. Bob
