This is what we love and expect from Tenyo, clever mini illusions.

This is based on Houdini's famous trick, Metamorphosis, which is performed by almost every stage magician.

Unfortunately, it is not always easy to perform with the curtain (hence the alternated routines like Simon's).

There is also a major sound issue which I minimize by switching a large coin for one of the balls.

All that said it is still a must have for Tenyo collectors just not as great as Angelo's Masterpiece and my favorite Tenyo, Prison Box.

I`m looking for a MM with a reasonable price, it should not be new, if it`s still working (especially the lid of the box) I`m ok with it. My gimmick is broken and it`s not possible to fix it and to make it work properly. So it`s just nice for a display only for a moment.

I love the idea of this trick although it has some issues. MM becomes a unique icon for Tenyo and it is a must have item for collectors. No doubt, the clever mechanism makes this trick famous. Indeed I have sometimes difficulty to make the effect work, maybe stronger m****t like neo will help to loose the gimmick while it locks. Just find a small piece and stick on the existing gimmick in the curtain, I think it will help the handling.

I guess I'm one of the few that actually doesn't like this effect :( Agreed, it's a must have for a magic collector/Tenyo collector, and sure, it's quite clever, a real 'mini-illusion', but it's just not performable as a magic effect for me ... dispite the clever routines by John and SImon ... . It works exactly like people think how it works.

There are a number of alternative methods in Tenyoism that are quite clever and work much better than the magnet stuck to the curtain.

Angelo's prototype was made of balsa wood, hence it didn't make any problematic noise. But this is certainly not the only Tenyo item which makes a thwack at the wrong moment.

"Listen for the magic..."
I love this trick for the thinking behind it.
Now you see me...

Here is my first magic video with my beloved Tenyo trick "Mini Morphosis"
which I had bought many years ago and which impressed me very much at this time.

The trick worked perfectly at that time. The one I have now is unfortunately not perfect and has a often a very bad day. Today I have found a halfway satisfactory solution to use the trick. I am very glad that I could revive this great trick. The quality of the film recording is not the best,
was made with a smartphone and the colors are not quite authentic
but it is to see, what shouldn't be seen ...

Completely replacing the sound with music is cheating, you know. :-)

Well, all magic is cheating one way or the other
Anyone who knows this trick knows there's a noise !
Would have been glad to get a more positive comment

It wasn't meant as a negative comment, I'm sure you saw the smiley at the end of the sentence? And for the record, I have never seen or heard this trick, so I have no idea how much noise it makes. I can only guess it must be pretty loud since all videos (that I have seen) mask it off with music.

There is one exception Øyvind, the one made by Roberto. See his video posted in this same thread. But because he uses a die and on top the sound is perfectly normal, it's the die falling in the box.

Olaf, I like the strange music you use, and the waving of the ring. Hope to see more videos of you :)

So the sound issue is the weakest point of this trick, then? I wonder if I should try to make my own version with less sound...

I must however admit that there is one aspect of the original that I don't really understand, and that's how precisely the inside ball ends up centered on the lid after the trick. The chest itself is ungimmicked, right? And this wouldn't work well with anything else than a sponge ball inside the chest at the start?

The demonstration is not silent but there are certain ways to conceal or make it plausible. With plastic it won't be easy to create a silent version but it should be possible - But I would definitely prefer a wooden version to do justice to this trick stylistically. The box should also be a bit bigger. Cleverly designed, other objects should also appear as sponge balls, but is of course a more elaborate construction. Such a version would of course also be much more versatile.

My variation of short routine using Mini Morphosis and customized Tenyo Honeycomb. I called it Dejamorphosis.
