New MAGIRO book!

Post by Rob Rand » Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:57 pm

Hi, today I received a message from Marco Plambeck of Zauber-butike, where he announced a brand new book about the life of Magiro, who passed away in 2015.

"Magiro, ein Leben für die Zauberkunst"

It's 49 euro, see here:

https://zauber-butike.de/epages/4a349d8 ... oducts/153

This might be interesting for anyone who missed the previous book "Magiro Magie".

I ordered immediately a copy :)

Yes it's in German, but it will contain lots of pictures of his creations!

Thank you Rob, I ordered the book today. I had to translate wherever possible, so I wasn't quite sure if this was a pre-oder, or if it was ready for immediate shipment.

I never fail to be amazed by his uber-ultra-cool clever creations. I am surprised that there seems to be very little information on the world-wide web about Magiro.

No pre-order Bob, the book is fresh from the press :)

Marco Plambeck sent me my copy the same day I ordered it :)

Of course you can scan the German text, transfer it to OCR and then Google translate it :)

And yes David, I will give you my opinion when I've received it. It's anyway cheaper than the previous book "Magiro Magie", which costed 79 euro....
I also don't know if there is any overlap between these 2 books... I will let you know :)

From what I was able to translate, I thought that the book was ready to ship.

I just copy and paste text into Google "Translate" function. Usually, the translation seems to be somewhat rough, as I have not figured out how to include the accent marks when attempting to translate.

Thanks in advance Rob. I'm interested if this book actually shares the clever secrets that Magiro used in his tricks. If the book only has descriptions of the effects I don't think I'll buy it ... .

I received my copy of the new Magiro book.

This is a fantastic book! Beautiful layout, color photos of tricks... The author is Eckhard Böttcher, and that means: Qualität! Quality!

50 (!) tricks have been explained (how they work), complete with how to perform them. And really good tricks are included, even Ring-Automat (aka Witches Tunnel).

Only a few pages are dedicated to the life of Magiro. I mean, his life coarse is important, but this is not an extensive biographie with a few example tricks.
All attention goes to Magiros clever tricks!

There is even a list of 350 tricks invented by Magiro.

Remember, Magiro collaborated closely with Eckhard Böttcher, Böttcher's Zauber-butike.de sold 125 Magiro tricks, Böttcher developed the routines, 50 of these are chosen to be explained in this book.

This is a way better book than 'Magiro Magie', which was amateurishly designed and assembled, with only 22 tricks explained. Actually a copy-paste book, mostly black and white.

So, go for this book, for only 49 € (Magiro Magie was 79 €).

(The only BUT is, that it is a German book.)

Thanks for the heads up, Rob. I took the plunge, and will simply work my way through the translations slowly. Too bad it's not offered as an ebook for international buyers. That would make it easier to copy and paste into a translator. Either way... I'm looking forward to receiving it, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention..

Well Rob, your review/description of the Magiro book got me really excited so I decided to make the purchase.
I just received an email that the book had shipped. :D
I will need to do the scanning and Google translation thing but it will all be worth it.
I've had to translate a number of great effects from Germany so it's not too big a issue for me.

Yes, scanning / OCR and then Google translating gives great results!

Many secrets are in the book. And if Eckhard Böttcher is involved, it's a guarantuee for quality and many extra's.

I bought the book immediately,
I bought it even before I saw Robs review.

Can't wait, don't be late, it's reason to celebrate!

I received my copy of the book a few days ago. I'm finally going to devote a bit of time to it today, and looking forward to it! It's very nicely laid out, and has many pictures of the original apparatus.

It's still for sale, the price is a bargain for what you get:

I agree 100% - Very beautifully done & I am in the lucky position to read German language !
But there are some mistakes in the descriptions that sometimes make understanding difficult
