Tenyo makeover contest

Post by Steve S. » Thu May 31, 2018 10:23 pm

Okay...let’s try this and see what happens. I am looking for Tenyo trick props which have been given a makeover. That could mean many different things such as painting the prop(s), altering them in some way, or something else which could be considered an improvement of some kind.

The winner which will be determined by a variety of criteria including responses by members and will receive a Tenyo Sakkaku Scale. I will announce the last day to post which will be at least a week or more to give everyone time to enter if so desired.

If you have any tweaks you feel would be worthwhile, I am all ears so please feel free to post any input here.

Great idea Steve !!

If I may participate, I got one currently Steve :D :D
I called it Tribute To Mr. Harry Houdini, The King Of Escape.
Basically this is Tenyo Escape King. Same method but different size and design.
I shared this also before :

:) :) Not sure if this fulfill the category you mentioned. Just try my luck ;)

Thank you !

Cheers,
Victor

That looks great too David! It looks like this is going to be a difficult decision with entries like the two we have so far.

Perhaps the fair thing to do is to have members vote when entry time is closed and pick the winner that way. I will place a voting post where members can cast their votes.

Hooray! A new contest thanks Steve :)
Here are my submissions...
First up...
My 1920s mod for the usual suspects. It used genuine mugshots from that time and also has an optional extra set of photos to help you identify their suspect in a sneaky way. Pictures of the trick as well as the graphics to make your own are available here...

Next my ‘vile vortices’ series.
Part 2 : the Bermuda Triangle (mystery triangle)
https://youtu.be/2PmkzkddbhQ
Part 3 : the devil’s sea (blue crystal)
https://youtu.be/32TkDIYOlSM

Pretty much half of my YouTube channel is modded Tenyo, take your pick!

Oh great! More fantastic stuff!! I am now wondering what I got myself into here. It looks like it will have to go to voting because I will not be able to narrow it down to just one best entry. IMPOSSIBLE!!!

So I must have forgotten how talented you guys are when I started this contest. Live and learn right?

I now know that all entries will be winners. How about if I take up a collection and everyone who enters will get a SAKKAKU SCALE? Oh...the winners don’t have to chip in.

And let me add that your talent is worthy of more than a SAKKAKU SCALE. Excuse me...John...wanna contribute a few ULTRA TUBES for these fellas? ;)

I have a great idea! How about if everyone who enters sends me each of their entries for close and careful inspection?

I wouldn’t want to make a determination without actually seeing and handling the item right in front of me in person. :D

GREAT IDEA STEVE! Thanks for your efforts.

GREAT STUFF submitted so far guys.

At first I was thinking of submitting something from the Items I Make and Sell section of the sister site like Sherlock Holmes Clock (for Future Clock) or Protect the Grail (for Credit Slasher) but I think I have to bring out the "big guns" because I know there will be PLENTY of GREAT SUBMISSIONS still to come to go along with the already GREAT SUBMISSIONS.

My submission is Houdini's Black Box which is based on Tenyo's Black Hole.

I offer the following as prizes which were also inspired by Tenyo tricks:
2nd Place Bird Brain
3rd Place Think A Drink

I am still making Houdini's Black Box as well as all the items on the Items I Make and Sell page. The member price for Houdini Black Box is $195 delivered in US and $215 delivered overseas.

That’s very nice of you to contribute to the prizes John! Your first prize makes my Sakkaku Scale seem insignificant in comparison. Maybe my prize could be an honorable mention prize or something like that. I’m all ears...

I am overwhelmed by what has been submitted so far! Amazing stuff!!

Please keep them coming fellow Tenyoees...

Well Steve, you can blame me for getting you into this! HAH, as for makeovers...I don`t have much to offer, but repairs, I have a few but I don`t think will compete with the submissions already! Good luck everyone!

It’s amazing to see all of these together, what a creative bunch we are!
I’d forgotten about vic’s Bond (James Bond) gizmo. I think from now he’ll have to call vic ‘V’.
I think my final submission (the one I’ll put forwards) will be my favourite adaptation so far...
My twist on Mystic Scope... Silent Witness :)

I am very familiar with your Silent Witness Simon and quite frankly, I should own it!

Silent Witness turns a Tenyo trick into a mysterious and fascinating routine.

Quite frankly, there can be no losers in this competition. All entries so far are fantastic so you can’t allow anyone to not win something. I have some empty Tenyo boxes I can use as honorable mentions. :o Just kidding.

I suggest that we give this one more week for entries and then figure out something fair. Oh, I know...everyone will get one of John’s Black Boxes. You better get busy John!!! :D Just kidding...

We have a total of 4 prizes so far so...the winner can get first choice, runner-up second choice, and so on. Gee, I wonder what the first place winner will want?

Don’t worry, we will figure this out so fairness prevails. In the meantime, please keep the entries coming. That way, I will really have a problem sorting this out. :D

IMG_4511_1.jpg
well then, if I may submit something, here it is, my projects over the past year or so worth bringing forward, I redid the stickers for the card case, printed the new sticker for floating lady from tenyoism (the advanced version) recently made the crossroads gimmick, which isn`t pretty but it worked great last night at the meeting, and the one I am most proud of, rope of calcutta, the base was snapped off so I redid it and painted it and the plastic was cracked, so that was cleanly redone, in fact I have a post floating around here somewhere on the progress of that exact project.

When I saw Simon's other submissions I was going to suggest to him to submit Silent Witness. That is my favorite of Simon's creations that I have.
