I remember one of our member Peter W (puzzle expert) made the wood version of magical doors for his own collection and it looks much much better than the elite version.

I don't care for this "Elite" version either. $250 for this piece is way over priced.

I just don't understand why Tenyo Elite keeps skipping over all the truly great Tenyo pieces. :?

I really like Magical Door and would actually like to own a beautifully made wooden version although the basic Tenyo version already looks pretty good too.

But ...
- it's still available,
- this Elite version is WAY too expensive for what you get (yes yes it is all made by hand etc. ...),
- and PeterW's version is much nicer looking!

I'll just wait for Peter, Simon, ... or someone else to build me a nice looking wooden version, perhaps 'improved' in some way too ... . Or I'll build one myself, which shouldn't be THAT hard :? :)

1 additional ungimmick door would be perfect for switch and we can hand out everthing for examination. Hmmm...sounds great to have spares for this trick :)

Instead of switching out a panel switch out a matching chain that is not magnetic.

That is also a great idea Richard...and of course less effort :) can we easily find such kind of similar chains?

Tenyo Elite haven't improved Magical Door with this release, I like the original Tenyo version much more.
I was looking forward to something better

A standard oval link is common so I would expect it to be available in silver plated steel and plated brass or copper. I need to take this chain from magical door to a jewelry supply place not far from me see if he can order them on a spool then cut them long as you want.

I like what Tenyo Elite is trying to do, and I realize that they can't just pick and choose the items that they most want to offer, but $250 for this (plus $25 S/H) is insane.

I'm sure that they are paying a ton for the rights to reproduce, and hoping that the limited nature of these remakes will drive the value, but this one is simply overpriced.

For me, I would have considered forking out the $250 for it if it was as nice as the one Peter W made.

That being said, I have no problem with the Tenyo version. In fact, I think it's just fine exactly the way it is.

So what really is the purpose of Tenyo Elite? I thought that they were created to make really deluxe versions of popular Tenyo tricks. Ideally, ones that were difficult to obtain.

That's why I think making ULTRA TUBE made sense. It gave you the opportunity to get one. I also like their MOONSPINNER because I love paddles, like how much more professional their version is, and is another Tenyo not so easy to obtain.

I saw no point to them making FORTUNE STICKS and ZIG ZAG CIG. Their MATCH STICKS was made using wood which was a poor choice because of a possible grain issue.

This version of Magical Door looks rushed, is too expensive for what it is, and not one of the ones that everyone has been asking for in an "Elite" version. As others have said, the finish looks worse than the plastic version.

There is a thread on the Cafe where people requested the tricks they wanted re-issued in Tenyo Elite. It seems the Tenyo Elite guys have been avoiding that list.

I will stick to my plastic version and will pass on this one for sure.

If Tenyo Elite would include two keys then the performer could do a T-92 Pendant type effect before starting the Magical Door routine. Customers would be getting two Tenyo effects for the price of one.

Here is the idea from the sister website:

Ha ! I found an excellent Tenyo Elite version of Magical Door!

OK, you cannot remove the doors, and it's called Chain Penetration, and it's from Sunil Batra... but this will be definitely a lot cheaper!

I like the design...

That's nice, Rob!

For simplicity sake, I still like Sugawara'a Impossible Chain Escape. I know that we have already discussed this one, but perhaps it bears repeating (?)

I saw on the Cafe that Tenyo Elite is working on a new item- anyone want to start making guesses regarding which one it will be? Hopefully something closer to Crystal Cleaver than Crazy Spots.

When Tenyo elite announce they are getting ready for a new release I wouldn't hold your breath :!: you should know in about 6 months what new idea they have and then another 6 months to get it ready.
It will be something basic so I will guess ESP Dominoes.

Not impressed with tenyo elite, only thing that looked nice was the ultra tube, so many missed opportunities.

I am hoping that they do SPINNING PLATE ON ROPE. Imagine how cool it would be if both the plate AND rope were made of wood! Can’t get more deluxe than that...

Or maybe SEE THROUGH CARD using transparent wood for the clear plates.

But my dream elite would be PHANTOMA where the handkerchief would be made of the finest imported silk and the haunted house was made of exotic wood and actually rattled without struggling to make it happen. :o

I think that Moonspinner is the best release they have done.

Are you looking for a Tenyo Elite Zig Zag Cig brand New in the sealed box? If yes, please PM me. Thanks!
